Dear Friends (Especially Keralites)
This Discussion is for Choosing your Favourite "Padmarajan" Film.As we all know
that Late Writer-Director Padmarajan can be argubaly told as the Best Scriptwriter-Director
of Malayalam Cinema.He was able to be a part of the Golden Period of Malayalam Cinema
which happened to be the 80's and some part of 90's(Till 95-96).He was well known for his
combination with Bharathan who simply changed the Malayalam film industry with a new
breed of Films.Now Malayalam Industry really lacks a person like him!In his dedication I
would like all his fans to do the following!
"Please Choose His Top 3 Films (Those directed by him) U liked the most!
If Possible give us a brief outline of the movie,Ur interpretation about the movie and other
details like Cast,Music etc!And a few words about Mr Padmarajan"
Mine is
1) Namukku Paarkan Munthirithopukal
Cast - Mohanlal , Shari , Thilakan , Vineeth , Kavyoor Ponnamma
This movie is considered to be one of the best (The Best in my choice) LOVE STORY
in the history of Malayalam Films.Its about the Love Affair of a Vineyard owner,
Solomon (Mohanlal) and his neighbour Sophia (Shari).This affair wasn't appreciated
by Paul Pailokaran (Thilakan) who was her foster father!This was due to the clash with
Solomon when he was drunk and ill treating Sophia!The movie had brilliant
performances from all the three Protagonists which was well supported by the
roles of Antony (Vineeth) as Solomon's Cousin and Ritha (K Ponnamma) as
Solomon's Mother!The Movie is of course Padmarajan's Best Love story of all
his movies and THE CLIMAX IS SIMPLY SUPERB!One thing to note is the brilliant
songs ONV Kurup-Johnson Team and the superb and mild Background Music which
goes well along with the Film!This movie shows the real LOVE!{This Movie is shown
in Asianet}
2) Deshadanakili Karayarilla
Cast - Mohanlal , Urvashi , Karthika , Shari , Jalaja
This movie is about to school students Nirmala or Nimmi (Karthika) and Sally (Shari)
who runs away from the school during a picnic in order to find a safe place (in their view).
This is also to play a ploy on their teacher Devika (Urvashi) who was the charge of the picnic.
In the time they meet Harishankar (Mohanlal) who was suspended from the bank on a false
allegation.His character attracted Nimmi who fell in love with him (One Way)!Another of
Padmarajan's brilliant movie which can be enjoyed more by the Youth!Good songs From
Raveendran - ONV Kurup team and of course brilliant performances from the cast especially
Shari as Sally Jacob!!{This Movie shown in Surya Channel)
3) Kariyila Kaatu Poole
Cast - Mammotty , Mohanlal , Rahman , Karthika , Sripriya , Unnimary , Jalaja , Krishnankutty Menon
This SUSPENSE THRILLER starts from the murder of a famous film director and writer played
by Mammotty which is being investigated by Mohanlal who is a cop!Sorry!I can't give more details about
this movie since its a suspense thriller and those who hasn't watched it must watch it!Its a different
suspense thriller comparing to "Oru CBI Dairy Kurupu" but belongs to the genes of Padmarajan
-Joshi Film "Ee Thanupan Velupaankalathu".The Climax is simply Great and Must concentrate the
dialogues in the climax scene!Here Rahman plays Lal's Brother ,Karthika as Rahman's Fiancee
Shripriya as Karthika's Mother , Jalaja as Mammotty's wife , Unnimary as Hindu Nun and Krishnankutty
Menon as Mammotty's Servant!(BGM by Johnson) {This Movie is oftenly shown in Kairali TV or
and sometimes Asianet}
