This was one movie I really enjoyed because of the best production values yet for an Indian film.
It didn't do that well because it seems Indian audiences weren't ready for it.
The director 'Vidhu Vinod Chopra' has always been known for pathbreaking films such as "Parinda"(India's official oscare entering film) and "Kareeb."
This was a Hollywood type movie that was stylized very well to Bollywood. On top of that, I enjoyed watching it. This movie deserved a lot of support and it did not at all, get any!
Finally, India comes out with a worthy Bollywood movie for the Millenium and the people reject it.(Mallu movies were already worthy and had good production values from the 90s onward).
I do want to hear all comments about production values in Indian flicks though....minus the 15 year olds and others that are the same age mentally, like some perverts that pop up on the forums.

EARTH is basically the story about the Indo-Pak seperation. told in the eyes of three characters.
Lots of violence in the movie (but i guess the times were violent).
Picturisation was absolutely beaut. Soundtrack was excellent (by A.R Rehman).
Acting was also good - esp. Aamir Khan and Nandita Das

Yup, The stunts and picturisation was superb...
The director was supposed to have first intoduced the concept of "computer imaging"(I donno the X'act) in Bollywood....

This movie is a good movie. Jacki sheroff and sanjay dutt were superb. Hrithik Roshan was good too...!! Also well directed, but one part I didn't like was when sanjay dutt leaves a very important briefcase in the car alone and later on he hold on to it like that was his baby. Then he takes this briefcase to his home, and it explodes and kills his wife.
