  You have to take into account that in Rafi Sahab's era there was no stereo digital music technolgy etc where we have now which gives you good music, even then Rafi was still the best.

  udit is a great singer yes, but he sounds kinda "poppy" to me, alot of his songs sound hmmm abit cheesy, hes not as versatile as rafi, and modern technology, clearer recordings and "softer" music (old songs had alot of harsh string) make modern singers voice sound much more better then they realy are, compare backstreet boys to a group from decades earlier, and guess what, as terrible as bsb are they will sound better simply due to modern technology,
