Yesudas received the coveted Padmabhushan award this year, though many felt that it came little late. Prem Naseer is probably the only one to receive it before him from Malayalam film industry.( some one pls correct me if I am wrong). Thikkurissi got a Padmasree and I don’t know about others who have already received such honors.
P.Bhaskaran deserves an award for his long time contribution to malayalam cinema.
Madhu was a strong candidate for his contribution to films as an actor, director and producer. But problem with him is that he is not active or that popular at present.
Music director Devarajan deserves atleast a padmasree.
Adoor if not awarded yet deserves it..
Director K.S Sethumadhavan is another strong contender
S.Janaki deseves it for her contribution to South Indian cinema.
Mammootti and Mohanlal are almost certain to get a Padmasree though they may have to wait for a couple of years..

  What about Jagathi? He is the best comedian even in Malayalam cinema and in my opinion the best in Indian cinema
