  Pranayvarnangal, Niram, Summer in Bethleham, Chandranuddikunna dikkil, is I believe Vidhyasagar is at his best.

  He has got variety.New sounds in his music.That too with a very strong Melody Content.Unlike ARR he has got variety.

  vijay variety means...different types...he is not only good in instrumental....he gave a lot of melodies to malayalam and tamil musics....and his semi classical songs are superb...dadashiyil from madhuranombharakatte and yathuvamsha from dubai were superb....then if u look he gave us melodies like oru rathri kudi....virahini radhe...karale nin ...kannadi kudum kutty...vennilakombile...miyiyariyathe...chandrahrt=dyam.....and the song" malare mouname" from movie karna(1995)..thats was one of the best melodies in tamil music.....and he did show us that he can do fast numbers...especially special with him is his tunes and orchestration are superb

  What is so special about vidya sagar?.
  
  First of all, in this ARR era, we should appreciate him for creating his own style. All his songs are very much vidyasagaristic!.
  Some of them have excellant beats, some have mesmerising melody, but all of them have that unique sound, which wont fail to hanut you.
  
  His beats are more pronounced than ARR or deva and never seem to be out of tune. His orchestrations are always very crisp, smooth and razy, even his slow melodious song does not lose its raziness. His orchesrations never drag you, where even some of ARRs can.
  
  
  For all the worst things arjun has done for TFM, he can be forgiven for only one reason. He gave us vidyasagar.

  I agree with dhanish.Vidhyasagar is the best music director after IR.He is my favourite. His melodies include Malare(Karna), Nee kaatru naan mazhai(___), Kaadhal Vandhadhum(Poovellam un vaasam), un samayalarayil(Dhil), malai kaatru vandhu(Vedham), Miya miya(Alli thandha vaanam).
  He has been working with IR in 80s. His compositions are much different from others.
