I think the thinking most of the heroes some time back had all their hits related to one person - none other than Manju Warrier. Just check the list

1) MohanLal - He got Aaram Thampuran hit with Manju, then followed it with Kanmatham. Again that Gunda style movie Narsimham survived (not because of the heroine). Then when he tried the same Gunda without Manju it failed (Praja, Onnaman,Thandavam) or the story type (Shreda, Life is Beautiful), etc.

2) Suresh Gopi is another Shaji Kailas' gunda movie hero. Then got some recognition in Kaliyattam, Summer in Bethlem, Pranayvarnangal, etc. Then rest all flopped

3) Jayaram also always needed a heroine to get going, starting shobana and then moving to Manju for - Ertta Kuttigallude..., Krishnagudi..., and so on till he started getting flops
