But, the clear winner this time is 'Naaturajavu'. It looks as if the audience has had enough of Mohanlal playing a variety of roles. They love to have him back in his larger-than-life roles. The film had been released in 57 centers and is doing exceptionally well in all the centers. So good is the performance at the box office that the film is expected to recover its costs within two more weeks! Its celebration time for Mohanlal fans! For the first time, Priyadarshan made a film with someone other than Mohanlal or Mammooty and the audience seems to love the film. 'Vettam' starring Dileep is doing pretty well too. This film is also expected to step out of the loss-boundary soon. The rest of the Onam releases are doing only average business all over the state .

  Bottom line is mammooty doesnt have initial pulling power.But He surivies merely on mouth publicity of movie(and good thing is his selection of movies have been much better than Mohanlal or any other actor for past 4-5 yrs rather than his luck).

  mohanlals the greatest star that malayala cinema has ever seen.mammo is nothing and his kazha is doing well only because of that kid .natturajavu is the only hit in the onam releases.

  Natturajavu is a huge hit .It ran 3 weeks in all major centers and got big initial...What a great achievement.I agree Mohanalal is a great actor but his choices make him avoidable nowadays.Nobody is happy about the movie and it can not run 2 weeks in B class centers.Don't praise Lal for acting in stupid movies like Natturajavu .

  mammu's movie selection hasn't been any better than lal's.ok..one kaazhcha happened..but that's just luck.if his movie selection was better than lal's, then he wudn't've opted for vesham, the story of which is a carbon copy of vaalsalyam.

  lal believes in his directors and writers.when they assure him of success, he believes them.but in the end it turns out to be crap.
  yes..we all want him to do movies like those in his prime..his offers for the next one year looks good.hopefully we'll see him in better roles and movies.

  i didn't say thaandavam collected like NR.what i said was that while both thaandavam and NR got huge collections during onam week,NR sustained it for a month afterwards and thaandavam didn't.
  that proved to be the big difference between the two.
