Hey tamil friends,
I have heard Lagaan is copied from a tamil film. And what's more the filmmakers shot it in south India in little village called . Those people are all south Indians who are with Aamir Khan. Their voices have been dubbed. They have abused our culture and villagers. Imagine our sweet Rajnikanth in there. I think he is very fair looking. Just like Aamir Khan. South Indians are fairer than northies

Hey Man shut your filthy mouth. I am born in TN and am in TN. I know very well about people here. They prefer to call themselves as Tamilians rather than Indians. If anyone asks who will start the diversity in India, IO would say - My fellow Tamilians. Try to see yourself as an Indian. We are all Indians not tamilians or Malayalis or any others.Jai Hind.
Anyone who feels themselves as a good patriotic Indian, please do not continue this FILTHY F*K discussion

The movie Lagaan is just bulls_hit. Amongst Aamir flops, I will rate this on top. I carry very high opinion about Aamir Khan as an actor. But Mr. perfectionist (Aamir) has been just direction less, perfection less in this movie. Only the stupid Indian audience and the more stupid media can make such flops a success. The game of cricket has been made to look very cheap in this movie. Cricket could have been shown in much more decent ground and with much better players and in more professional way. You can not expect Mochi, Nai, Dhobi, Bhikhari etc., (Cobbler, Hair Cutter, Washerman, Beggar etc.,) to become cricketers in 3 months and beat the whites. It is just not realistic. The selection of story line, the location, the farmer actors have just been mediocre and non-sense. But what to do. In India we have the majority of the movie going audience who are brainless and instead with full of s_hit in their heads. And the movie makers clearly exploit these thoughtless brains. Our audience just do not understand what is a good movie and what is a bad movie. Most of the times they make a flop movie a hit and a hit movie a flop. And to do this the makers also do intelligent publicity. Internet is further supporting the cause of a flop movie being made a hit. sify.com, indya.com, rediff.com etc., have no other business but to do this kind of cheap publicity. I wonder these portals must be paid handsomely by these movie makers. And this is just what Aamir seems to have done for his Lagaan. The way media and web portals have been harping in praise of Lagaan is a clear indication of movie makers using intelligent publicity and exploiting the masses. For the last 10 years, I have been always waiting for some movies to be announced as flops as on many occasions I have found that the movies which the Indian audience claims as flops turn out to be excellent movies. And some movies that are termed as super duper hits by the audience and media, turn out to be just disasters. Talking once again about Lagaan, Aamir seems to have shown the gully cricket (street cricket) in the movie. None can justify where the bloody 25 crores of rupees went. Certainly in publicity. As the movie that has to be amongst the list of worst flops of all times has strangely found the place amongst the list of 6 all time hits. Our stupid people who can make lord Ganesha drink the milk can do anything. It is nothing but the Bhed Chaal (Sheep Walk). When 100 stupid people talk good about some thing, then the 101th wise person doesn't dare to talk bad about that. As he fears others ridiculing him. And this then becomes the masses opinion and hysteria. Oh God ! when will you give brain to the people of this country.

Yeah personally I think Muthu was better since at least was more realistic than Lagaan. Kudos to Rajini for being better especially the scene with the mango tree.

Lagaan is a bad movie and after all, i dont capture any memory of a british woman falling in love with an indian beggar in history.
aamir is at his worst in this film and the story is most unbelievable.
The accent of british men is terrible.

Lagaan is a sophisticated piece of filmmaking that will raise the standards of Indian films. The script is exceptional and few could have played the role of Bhuvan as good as Aamir. Cinematography, sound design, use of location sound, editing, background score and A.R. Rahman's music all bring new high scores in Indian films. In at least one overseas film festival, the film received a standing ovation. A Malay friend of mine went to watch it twice and she still couldn't get over it. So it isn't just Indians who appreciate it. It is difficult to make a commercial film which appeals to both the masses and the classes - and this film has done so as the critics and box office collections appear to show.

Are you (Tamilian or so called south Indian) a narrow minded???
How many of total Indian population is able to speak Tamil language??

I think people calling this movie bull$@*& seem to have left all their sensibilities whereever they were last night. This movie I feel catches the nerve of Indian sentimentality and expolits it to create a superbly executed three hour 40 minutes drama. It is wholesome entertainment without a single dull moment. Those who thought the movie degraded the game have narrow enough minds and couldnt see and understand the message behind the team building effort in the movie. For such I can only say that they have not understood the true sprit for which the ganme of cricket stands for...

You Tamil IDLIS should enjoy your own foolish cinema with Shankar's vulgar 'Boys.' Wait. Wasn't he your BEST (ooops)?
Lagaan is such a magnificient film it went to the Oscars - thanks to the whole team behind it. For a TAMIL film to get to Oscars, wait 1000 years.
Shame on IDLI and SAMBAR
