Who do you think is the best director in Malayalam right now.
Here are some options: Priyadarshan, Kamal, Lohitadas, Fazil, Shaji Kailas, Joshi, Vinayan, Sibi Malayil, Rafi Mecartin, Siddique Lal, Jayaraj, Rajasenan, Thulasidas, IV Sas etc

  Mone dineshaa vincee, adoor chettayide padam nammal kanunnathu athu oru puthiya vyathasthamaaya cinema namukku kanikkunnu enullathu kondaanu.Oru kalathu angerude padangal duroohamaayirunnu.pakshe anantharam,mathilukal,vidheyan thudangiya chithrangal namukku oru puthiya cinema anubhoothi pradaanam cheyyunnu ennullathu oru sathyam maathramaanu.
  
  Lots of people think that they wont be able to understand that and then say that i dont see such film.But if we try watching that we will definitely inderstand that and also feel better after watching the film.
  
  mathilukal gave me the same pleasure as I V sasi's 1921.
  
  Both satisfied the film lover inme.
  
  Indian films r known outside the world not for the bollywood nonsense nor for the so called popular directors but only for adoor,ray,etc!!
  
  His kind of film making is his style and it is a great thing to have ones own style.
  
  All that which matters is whether he is able to communicate or not and if that happens,wht more is needed?
  
  So many people feel that we dont understand it without even tryin to see those films .
  
  And so called art film directors - like bakkar,aravindan etc made their films really cryptic and hence it drove the people away from them and that cud be one reason for this aversion towards off beat films.
  
  may be adoor etc have realised it of late and that explains movies like Vidheyan which has an undercurrent of violence and fear all over the movie with out a single action scene.
  
  Abd also the madhyavarthi films of george,padmarajan,bharathan,mohan etc deliberately were indulging in lots of adult themes(they were all unparallelled creators is another issue) that it gave the malayalam movies a title that "A films" which none of us can be proud abt!!

  btw, 'mathilukal'ude oru prathyekatha athil Basheerinde sambhashana shaili athe pole upayogichittum namukku boring aayi thonnunnilla ennathanu. ex: mammootty thande jailor-ne ingane vilikkunna oru rangamundu 'edo swathanthryathinde kashappukara' ;) ende abhiprayathil ee sambhashana shaili padathinde mattu koottukayanu cheyyunnathu.

  films directed by adoorsir have given me fantastic feeling of understanding the language of film.. even chances are provided to us to converse with the KATHAPATHRAM even after a long time after seeing the film.
  
  today date is 21/11/2001..,even now i think about the life and attitudes of MR.KATHAPURUSHAN... whose laughter is still in my ears and heart ..questioning the 'ARUTHAYMAKAL' .
  i wish that adoorsir will go on his efforts to make classicfilms in any language ..in malayalam also.
