will lakshya will be another blockbuster from king of bollywood Hrithik after last year superduper hit Koi Mil Gaya....

i think hrithik is brilliant in choosing his movies he only act 1 or 2 movies in a year 7 it will superhit
" It took him 24 years and 18,000 feet to find himself"

After the success of groundbreaking ‘Dil Chahta Hai’ (The Heart Desires), Farhan Akhtar follows up his 2001 romantic comedy with an epic and awe-inspiring drama. He has an impressive cast and even more impressive locations in Lakshya, hitting cinemas this month.

Shot on location on mountains 18,000ft above sea level, with Bollywood’s top three stars in the lead, Lakshya is a coming of age movie set against life in the army.

The production boasts of an international crew, including Australian stunt coordinators and acclaimed American Director of Photography; Christopher Popp.

Made for a budget of over 330 million rupees (£4million) it makes it the most expensive Indian film of 2004, and will be released simultaneously throughout India, UK and the USA on the same day.

The film is tipped to enter the UK box office top ten within the first week of release, as has been the case with recent major releases such as this from India.

Stars of the film:

Amitabh Bachchan
This man needs no introduction, and his popularity shows no sign of waning. In ‘Lakshya’ he plays the role of an army Colonel and mentor to our main protagonist.

Hrithik Roshan
The role in this film has stretched the limits of his physical fitness, as he plays the part of a young man who leaves his comfortable city existence to pursue a life in the army and find himself. A must-see for Hrithik fans - this is Hrithik’s only movie for the foreseeable future; he hasn’t signed or shot for any other film.

Preity Zinta
Having starred in the top three films in the last few years, In Lakshya she goes from being a young girl to playing the part of a TV reporter on the frontline of conflict.

Director:

Farhan Akhtar
Having debuted in 2001 with ‘Dil Chahta Hai’, a romantic coming of age comedy, he created cinematic history in India with a new approach to film making for the next generation. In the last five years, no debut director has made the impact that Farhan did with his first film. This is a larger scale project that is predicted to being a commercial and critical success.

Like Dil Chahta Hai which was largely autobiographical, Lakshya too draws from Farhan's life. Hrithik's character in the movie starts off as a young boy who is very confused, and struggles to find his calling in life; Farhan went through the same.
