This thread is for naming the best director of Indian film industry.(Name the ppl who are still active in the industry,Take into account only the mainstream film makers.

  In malayalam it's no one but Kamal.
  he can make a village or comedy subject, (eg.peruvannaapuram visheshangal)
  a family drama,(ulladakkam,mazhayethum mumbe)
  college subject(nammal,niram)
  children film(kaakothi,unnikalae..)
  experimental movies(meghmalhar,ghazal)

  Hey everbody here are talking abt malayalam films alone.Why not abt other language films?
  Give your opinion for whole of Indian mainstream film industry,if i was asked who is the best director(in Art films)then my answer will be Adoor gopalakrishnan?,but i was not able to come to such a conclusion for mainstream industry .pls help.
