I think Yesudas has the best voice in India. He is very versatile. Hindi film industry has not utilized him well. Look at his old hits from Chitchor. He is the only one who can be compared to Kishore da or Rafi sahab in Indian film music scene now. Even though Singers like SPB, Udit, Abhijeet and Sonu Nigam are very good singers, Yesudas is the best. He should be singing more Hindi songs so that people all over india can enjoy his music not just Malayaalees and Tamilians. Is there any singer in India ( past or present ) other than yesudas who has made a name for himself in Both Film music as weel as Carnatic Music??.

  Jesudass, is a great singer, and same goes to Jayachandran. Jaya have render a good songs and i love is voice. Even what every Jesudass do by support people, but he is away from Jesus Christ. When he come back to Jesus Christ, his life will fulfilled.

  u IDIOTS! what do you mean yesudas doesn;t know classical music. he studied under Semmangudi Iyar one of the divine unison, suman kudi iyar and G.N balasubramannian. he Must know classical, carnatic and etc. for he is now teaching it to S.P Balasubramanyam along with Balamurali krishna. Krishna and yesudas have teamed up to teach S.P classical along with carnatic. yesudas himself said he thinks of S.P as a YOUNGER bro.
  don't believe me? go to google and type in S.P balasubhramanyam and yesudas concert. it is on s.p's official site. he also says thank u to yesudas for intorducing him to karnatic. go to karnatic .com and u can see the ragum for mari mari ninne, it is exactly as he sung it, it's the fault of the director for the unkarnatic style fasion in which the instruments are playin.

  I saw SONU performing live on Lata Mangeshkar's 75th anniversary show. All people sang Lata's no.s. Even great Kavita could not reproduce what Lata has sung so easily. Sonu by the way was compering the event!!!!
  And when SONU came to sing, it was simply unbelievable!! He sang Thade rahiyo ohh banke yaar re...... which is purely classical song with so many ups and downs, so many alaps in the song and ya.... he sang absolutely perfectly!!! It was simply stunning performance to say the least.
  Anyone who saw that event should not have any doubt regarding the fact that SONU is the best singer bollywood has today.
