I know it is a cheap comparison but there is point in it.Vinayan thinks he is someone special in the industry and always says that his movies are creating sensational waves (hows that expression).Recently I read a small interview in the latest Vanitha (with Meera Jasmine in the coverpage). In his words he is showing that he is the best. What do U think

when i look at the set of directors in existence today i can broadly classify them into 2 types:
1)directors who dont deserve to be making films.
2)directors who r trying to do wot they cant do or atleast going abt doing it in a manner it ought not to be done.
the first class of directors have been in existence right from the time movies started and wud be in existence till eternity.its the second class of directors who honestly pain me.as an audience i honestly wud anyday prefer a change in sensibility over change in genre.recently a crop of directors have emerged who belive in exploring the "unexplored" without actually knowing the various chordsthat make up the "unexplored".and i must say such on-the surface-knowledge is more dangerous than total ignorance.

coming back to audience part i wud like to say here that i am doing my be in mumbai and that there might be people who belive bollywood is hitting its worst period it has ever been thru.but the way i see it this is the best period in the history of bollywood.unrealistic, cliched cinema have taken a backseat, realistic cinema has slowly emergedemphasis on quality cinema has grown by leaps and bounds.yes the bo-collections may not be a high-factorbut essentially cinema as a medium has developed.with respect to this point i wud like to make an observation.a major chunk of the cinema-going audience today out here is composed of students like me and i can assure u that within our set of population there is a huge chunk who support good cinema.people like ram gopal verma, nagesh kukunoor, govind nihlani target we students as our main audience.and while doing so they havent deviated from their sensibility towards good cinema.

and we as an audience have developed an eye for "different cinema" and while doing so we have not compromised between "different and deception".and u honestly compare that to the college-going audience out here(i am not generalising just presenting a big picture)and u know the difference."adipoli","pseudo-cool"cinema sell here cos we have a market for it here.honestly a period of bharathan and padmarajan is nowhere in sight in the near future.but honestly we dont deserve it either

this comparison seems to be horroble...
does vinayan have a picture of the genre of "thoovaana thumbikal" and "namukku parkkaan..."
Vinayan 'was' an ok director.after he found out that hes initial films are commercial success(this doesnt mean he can be compared to padmarajan) he started directing junk movies with bloody sentiments like "meerayude dukhavaum...." ...
I hate vinayan...
please dont compare him with padmarajab
