ekaika ragam concept concerts are becoming popular but what is it about and why is it done
to emphasize on the compositions in one ragam or bring out ability of a singer in one raga for more than an hour?

As far as I can gather, the "ekaika raga" krithi is "only one krithi exists in that unique ragam". For example,
arddhanaareeswaram (Kumudakriya) by Dikshitar
nadathanum anisham (Chitharanjani) by Tyagaraja
devi brova samayamide (Chintamani) by ShyamaSastri
and so on. But as more and more modern composers aare composing in these "rare" ragams, many ekaika raga krithis are loosing their status. If we ask our friend shri Lakshman (author if the Ultimate Krithi Index CD ROM)< he will produce numerous examples of krithis in each of the above mentioned ragams. Hence, as time pases there will be fewer and fewer ekaika raga compositions.
