SDBBS is celebrating its 75th Anniversary this year and hence in commomeration of the Platinum Jubilee celebrations of the Sabha and in aid
of the Sabha Building Fund, we have been organizing special events.
If you like Indian Carnatic Music, we have a classical Indian Vocal Music Concert scheduled for the 2nd April 1999 at the DBS Auditorium (Singapore) @7.30 pm and the main artist will be Smt. Nithyasree Mahadevan (grand daughter of Smt. D.K. Pattammal and also who sang in the "Jeans" Film). If you are interested to attend, kindly let me know. The tickets are available from me each @$10, $15, $20, and $50.

One of South India's leading Mridangam Vidwan Sri.Muthuswamy Balasubramoniam who is associated with leading Jazz Musicians of Europe and US will be performing in Switzerland and Germany during the second week of November 2000. Those interested to arrange Mridangam Work-sho / Classes/ Lecture Demonstration by Sri. Bala during the proposed visit may contact . Balasubramoniam who is presently the Head of the department of Mridangam in the Government Music College in Tripunithura, Ernakulam District in the State of Kerala has accompanied with all leading Classical Musicans . He has been travelling to Europe to participate in Jazz festivals and classical Percussion ensemble. His South Indian Percussion Ensemble NADHA SUDHA RASAM is an interesting performance to be organised abroad .

Why does all cultural organisations giving more importance to performance alone. It is the duty of the organisations to take interest to arrange South Indian Classical Music Work-shops and seminars which will highly benefit the rasikas especially Foreign audience to know more about the rich cultural and musical values of Indian Music.

The views expressed by Mr. Easwaran needs consideration . I think it is the prime duty of Indian associations, Universities and Indian Missions abroad to look into the possibilites of arranging Workshops /Seminars and consider the views expressed by Mr. Easwaran
