Hello everybody

I want to know the difference between the raag BOULI and BOOPALAM.Raag REVAGUPTI also more or less resembles the above said raag. Can anybody clarify this.

  all these rAgas are upAnga janyas o their respective mELas i.e they do not take foreign notes. All 3 are mornining rAgas.
  rAga bauli is a janya of the 15th mELa mAyAmALavagauLa. Scale is SR1G3PD1S| SN3DPGRS||It is considered a ghana rAga.
  rEvagupti is similar to bauli except that there is no niSHAda.Therefore it has 5 notes in both ascent and descent.
  bhUpALa is a janya of 8th mELa, tODi.(in dIKsitars's school it is mentioned as janya of 9th mELa -no harm]
  Scale is SR1G2PD1S| SDPGRS||
  The only difference between rEvagupti and bhUpAla is the gAndhAra.

  Thanks Mr.Murthy for ur clarification.I have one more doubt. How to differentiate Rag Nayaki from Rag Darbar.In other words what are the vadi samvadi swras of rag Nayaki.
