There are so many music books not available in bookshops, music academy stores and other places in chennai.This thread is for people who want some book and are trying to get it..
Pls add your wish list...

  I picked up pugahpetra thamizh keerthanaigal, thamizh mummanigal keerthanaigal (manimekalai), raasa gaanam, and arunacala kavirayar's rama nataka keerthanaigal last time I was in Madras. The 1st has compositions by a number of composers (sudhanantha bharathi, kothai ammal etc). the 2nd has muthuthaandavar/marimutha pillai/arunacala kavirayar. raasa gaanam has oothukkaaadu songs.

  Thanks Lakshman.I do have a copyof the SSP.just gave it as an example of a sought-after book but out of print.
  
  A book on my wishlist would be sangita kalpadrumam by Muthaih bhagavatar.

  I also have photocopies of Some ragalakshana texts like ragamala, catvAriMshatrAganirUpaNam
  sangIta sArAMrta,sadrAgacandrodayA,rAgakalpadrumAnkura, and ragamala.
  
  Other books that I have are not with me right now.
  though I do have a list.

  Have u contacted the Karnatic Music book store- for the out of print books? Few mths back i got in touch with them- email re:music/dance book and the book i requested was out of print they said they would find a copy and make a copy for me.

  Have you got the CDP you wanted ? I see your post
  is quite old ..
  
  I have a CDP book with me, with a commentory.
  But it is in Kannada. If you can read Telugu
  script, it would not be very difficult to read
  this.
  
  Converting to pdf is a good idea too. Baraha
  software lets me type in Kannada, and then
  get a print it out in devanagari. Only catch
  is that need to have some time for this.
