Hi ...
1. I am looking for the words of the Meera Bhajan...
hari tum haro jan ki bhir
2. what is the name of the goswami in vrindavan to whom meera went to but he refused to see her since he did not meet women?
3. preferably from somebody who can clarify the word meanings if i cannot get them on my own.
also could explain the following lines from the famous surdas bhajan ' nis din barsat nain hamare'
a) ur bich bahant panare
b)AnsO salil bhaye pag thaake
rah na jaat risTAre
c)surdas ab DObat hai vraj kAhe na let ubAr.
how do we interpret this line.
thank you very much

Meaning:
Night and day our eyes are raining (tears)
Always the season remains cloudy and thunderous for us ever since krSNa has departed
The Collyrium does not remain applied on the eyes
The hands and cheeks have become black
The bodice is not dry since tears are flowing between the breasts
The watery tears flow in countless drops, the feet have become tired
Surdas says we are sunk in vraj Why does't the Lord lift and liberate?

1. dharyo nadina dhir
2. dukh jahan tahan pir

3.salil means countless drops or an endless stream? doesn't salil mean clear water?
4. ur - is breasts? but doesn't it mean things in sanskrit?
5. i am tempted to reaise another question - though ona different topic. Dikshitar says in his composition in (his) Devagandhari - pachAshatpiTha rUpiNi. any idea about the scriptural reference or significance of the 50 peethas he is talking about?

There is a slight error in one of the lines.
The corrected line is: hiraNyakashyapa mAr lInhO dharyO nAhi dhIr
O hari, destroyer of Sorrow, you dispel the sorrow of people
You protected Draupadi’s modesty by increasing the length of her robe
For the sake of your devotee, you wore the form of man-lion and killed Hinanyakashipu
You rotected the elephant king by briging him out of the water
O holder of mountain! How long has your servant Meera to wait in sorrow?
Surdas wrote in Avadhi. Ur means the front part of the body (upper torso, chest area)
I don't know the meaning of other words. I just copied the meaning from the book as given.

shyam: It is 'panchasathpitarupini'. It has mythological basis. Devi attends a 'yagam' by her father Daksha and is insulted. She gives up her life not being able to bear the insult. Shiva is saddened and wanders carrying the dead body. To give him relief Vishnu uses his power (chakraayudham) to chop the body into several (51) pieces. The pieces are strewn in different sacred places. Instead of 51 it has come to be known as 50. Some of those places (sthalam) are Kamarupam,Vaaranaasi, Nepalam,Ujjaini and Hasthinapuram.
I do not know whether you know Tamil. You might want to get a copy of 'Sri Kruthi MaNi maalai part 3' by Rangaramanuja Ayyangaar,if you know Tamil. He gives the meaning of all compositions by Dikshithar .
