What are the differences between Keerthanams, Padams,Swarajathis and Thillanas?

  Similar to krithis on various dieties like Ganapathy, Padmanabhaswamy, Sreerama....
  are there any one praising vedas and Gita..
  considering them as devathas or praising them..
  if so could some one send the detials of teh composition...
  similarly any compositions on Veda vyasa and Sankaracharya...

  there are several songs on the kanchi periayavas
  particularly Maharajapuram Santhanam's song in raag hindolam "chandra sekara saraswathiye charanam kanchiva dhayanidhiye" is a lovely song. like wise there are several other songs like "KAMAKOTI PEETA VASINI" in the raag kalyani.THEN YOU HAVE "PUNNIYAM ORU KODI" in the raag keeravani. there are a number of songs. and each one is a blessing to sign and hear.
