Does anyone know of a sitar teacher or just a good location for buying and learning about sitars and Indian music in general in the New York City Area. I am interested in finding stores/schools/programs owned and opperated by Indians in the NYC area.

  There is Bharathi Vidhya Bhavan right near Penn station(opposite to Fashion Institute) where you could enquire to learn more about indian music. Best of Luck

  I do not know about New York, but in New Jersey, there are few Sitar teachers.
