Who is this Bal thackarey to tell us what to celeberate and what not ? I think its really uncivilized behaviour by breaking shops that sell valentine gifts and other stuff.If he says it spoil Indian culture does he fight for anything and everything that does not promote indian culture.

  Okay,Why would he have a "beef" with Valentines Day.Why would anyone? Is it because Valentines is Catholic? Saint Valentine married Roman soldiers in secret.They were not to be married.At least thats what I've heard.I am not Catholic. The power that were in control then thought it was better to have single men going into battle.Less to lose I guess.Also a lot of Catholic holidays are really old pagan days.The Anicent Irish wouldn't give up their holidays even under threat of death.So the Catholic Church just adopted them.

  why should we celebrate valentine's day? and why not the "nal damayanti" day. i think no body know's in new generation about them that's why i am very much supprorted to shri"bal thakarey" first highlight our culture then look after other world. just think have we celebrate in india "ram seeta milap day" after war with rawan or "nal damayanti day"?then why gave importance to saint valentine is he great then these historical characters?

  vinod.. that point is not nobody i celebrating nal damyanti day.. the point is is anybody opposing it? Fine have u celebrated it? or have u ever taken any efforts to celebrate? Before jumping into our and their culture first remember all are human beings and every one is free to do whatever he wants. If you want go ahead and organize nala damaynti day and I am sure not even 10 thugs/vandals/criminals/hooligans/rowdies of shiv sena will be there. Dont pour your venom on what others are doing and when they are not forcing you to do? Thats the basic tenent of human relations. Incidentaly can you tell me what is 'our culture' can u explain that? can u explain what is culture in the first place. The first thing to learn about culture is to RESPECT other human beings and their freedom.
