I am starting this thread because I thought Chandra, Dravid and others have some interesting insights there. The intention is definitely not slander, but I do beleive that we are all mature enough to handle some frank-speak and tangentially differing views. I request people of different schools of thought on this issue to contribute. I am taking the liberty of copying some of Chandra's, Ranga's and Dravid's postings elsewhere here. Of course the forum's mediators' decision to keep this thread is final.

  Aryan comes from very old days. There was an Armenian king ARA (Ara-yan)who was the first Aryan. In Armenian it means honest, corages loyal. It also means the protector of family & nation.

  Armenians are indeed the first Aryans, Indian people are also Aryan. Skin color has nothing to do with this. It is possible that over millenia Indians in the East mixed with Mongoloids and others. Jews and Nordics distorted this word along with the swastika symbol.
