The State elections that were just over saw routing of LDF and DMK front in Kerala. This time, in Kerala the people have given a sound drubbing to LDF electing UDF as many as 100 candidates out of the total of 140 seats some thing unprecedented in Kerala.
In West Bengal, Mamata's Trinamool- Congress alliance has failed to give a good fighting to the Left Front. In Assam too, the ruling combine led by AGP had to bite the dust in the election foray.
All these results clearly elucidate one point, people don't take the elections seriously to show their disapproval of the bad governance provided by the ruling parties and fall a prey to mere gimmicks and polemics as has been proved in WB.

The return of Jayalalitha with a sweeping majority beats all sane reasoning and logic. Karunanidhi and the DMK has not done so bad to be massacred in such a fashion. To beat it all Jaya has already dumped her allies and decided to form the government on her own. Those who decided to go in with her before the elections have got a taste of her brand of treachery. God save Tamil Nadu!

The victory of AIDMK front in TN can directly be linked to disenchantment of the people with the rule of DMK-BJP alliance. Not a euphoric endorsement for Jayalalitha to occupy the CM's post. What should be specially noted is the winsome alliance AIDMK managed to form with TMC and Congress in straddle. People gave a stern thumbs down to Karunanidhi & Co.

The wise people again proved that the land of Kerala 'God's own country' not fertile for Ariyan rooted BJP and dumped their dream to open an account in the state.
The important point is that their votes considerably down from last elections; even they dreaming account opening consituancy votes reduced and UDF candidate defeated them with a high record majority which never BJP again can dream about this seat..
Tamils, Malayalis and all wise and educated people should realize the color of these Ariyan migrants who invaded our beloved country...
Kelites well done with BJP... get them out of country also..

people defeated DMK so badly. if this is the reward and gratitude they show to a government which did, comparitively good, to the people, it is a shame. as chidambaram said, they should have touch the conscience before they voted. all the bridges and so called developments were done to the people at people's tax money, not with dmk's money - it's okay, but how many governments after 1967 did that job????
if people decided to get ruled by J, then let us see who is going to prosper and who is going to suffer. valluvan said, being thankless is a sin, and it is unfortunate that majority of tamilnadu people did sin on MAY 10. Let the nature not punish them. we pray for it.

The reason why BJP could not open their account in Kerala this time too stems from the fact that though the Left parties don't have any soft corner for UDF, they assiduously fight with all their might to prevent BJP from making their presence shown in Kerala Assembly.
In Mancheswaram and Kasargod, where BJP is a force to reckon with, the left parities especially CPI turn some of their votes to UDF candidate thus upsetting any margins which may have accrued to BJP candidate over the UDF candidate.
The Left parties adopt the same strategy in Kasargod too. But so far the UDF has not been charitable enough to acknowledge that gesture from LDF.
This time BJP was all hopeful of opening an account in Kerala, and had calculted that bad governance by LDF would have contributed in good measure to its political gains. But they were for a great disappointment. Anyway, Kerala has proved to be the toughest battle ground for the BJP.

I had always thought TN would be last region where BJP will be able to make their presence known. I thought before BJP could make any electoral gains in TN it will have earned a few MLAs in Kerala. But BJP has been able to make gains both in the Lok Sabha elections and in Assembly elections. All because they were able to get allies in the State. BJP’s failure to make electoral gains in Kerala must be attributed to the tight front politics in Kerala and the Communists.
The bulky fronts (UDF & LDF) eat up almost 90% of the total votes cast leaving hardly anything for a third party. Moreover, various parties in both fronts have found that sticking with either of these fronts will only help them in the arithmetics of electoral politics. Even if any party has decided to quit any of the fronts, it has opted to join the other front instead of joining BJP to from a third front. Ex. The splinter faction of RSP came over to UDF instead of aligning with BJP.
Another factor that has limited the growth of BJP in Kerala is the (see-saw like) change of govts. in every five years. If the Congress were to be out of power for continuously 10 or 15 years, BJP will be able to wean away many of its group leaders and their local support base to its fold. If the communists were to be out of power for a similar period of time, the check that is exercised on the growth of BJP by the communists will fade away and BJP will be able to make gains in northern regions (Kasargode) and southern region (Trivandrum).

All...
Howmuch ever words and mails we discuss among ourselves, the basic fact of the political parties is not going to change... They will thrive in the way they are as long as we do encourage their caste, religion and region based politics, by voting one or the another back to power in every election....
The parties now a days, do not seem to bother much about the long term interest of the nation or building the infrastructure or building a better economy, giving proper and affortable education to our masses and decent health care...
So many articles and opinions have been written on the above topics and more such topics in the last 30 yrs of our history after independece... (I belive that, for the immediate 20 yrs that followed our independence, we have a had a decent Govt. and people ruling us...).
We allow culprits and criminals to assume the chairs of the highest offices of the land and later debate between ourselves which devil is less evil and which is not...
Guys... let's have break and think for a minute...
How long are we going to allow such dirty politics to rule us...?
Can we the educated and concerned elite of Indians, could think of making some serious changes in the politics of our country?
