I lived in India during the 1940's and 50's and I remember playing many games both outdoor and indoor. Some of the games I dont even know the names of but i would like anyone out there who remembers any type of Indian game to share their information with me. Thanks,
Dave.

Thanks Ramadas. But how about explaining how to play these games.
Does anyone know the rules to any marble games played in India?

hey dude,
no need to be rude. why don't u get to the US and learn to play baseball urself. it is souls like u who earn a bad name for our country or maybe u are stupid and don't know what these games are. the latter sounds like the most possible reason. Dave, I guess u could do an internet search for these games. I am sorry that i don't really know the rules for the games and so I can't help u.

Gilli-Daandu , Kitti Kambu we call it,
An Interesting but a dangerous game, the kitti(4 inch wooden stick sharpenned on both edges) will fly like a rocket and sometimes hit your private parts or eyes.
the rules were like cricket.
Kabadi, team effort and physical strength plays an important part in the winning.
its a tamilian game and still Tamilnadu were the champions.
Koli Kai, the marble games, many games with different setof rules.
The famous of these is played for money,
Theres a square drawn at the edge of a wall,
one has to throw the marbles into the square and
and strike the marble which the opponent marks for you using a head marble, without disturbing the other marbles.
Chilli-panthu,
Where the opponent team member will hit your back with a ball and gets you out, when your team tries build up a stack of stones.
Marak Korangu, a fantastic team game where members will play climbing from tree to tree.
The River game, where you try catch the opponent team members and move them out of the river.
The bullock cart race.
Nondi a ladies game.
