  total corrupt police indulged in extortion even from a kid who sells sundal at marina beach. also indulged in threatening and plating, forging cases who refuse to pay them. Such police only do katta panchyat in police station, and looser is who do notpay them. Few cases are carried out well to remain in better shape of statistics. Rest all business.... tn police stations have become business , extortion stations.... Well you can give a try.. FIR costs 2000rs or more...

  I read the comments on Tamil Nadu police by many.Most of you have not heard a good experince.But it is wrong to paint every policemen with the same tar.You will appreciate the fact that there are thousands of policemen who considers duty before his life and family.The police in India is going through a reform process which of course the depts too.The day is not far off that the TN police will become one of the honest,efficient,emphathetic police in the world.

  Yes...in crime investigation tmilnadu police is regarded as the second to scotland yard.With too little facilities and not much of scientific gadgets they have achieved in solving many crimes. The problem with them is they lack in manners when dealing with public. They regard themselves as superiors to people and not as their servants. Thats why they often get in tussle with lawyers and get back nicely,the lawyers having an upperhand with a strong unity.
  If their service conditions are improved with more salary and proper training in dealing with public they sure will do well.

  no doubt that tamilnadu police is one of the gems of gems in india.there may be some happenings that might have bought bad name.but we must remember that,all police r not bad buys.y should we blame them that they ask for bribes.if u r right with all ur documents,what's the necessary for them 2 ask u bribe.my opinion is,the reason y police is becoming corrupt is 'cos of the public only.as far as i'm concerned i'm sure tamilnadu police is better than the best.

  ex - DIG and many more HIGHER officials were arrested in fake stamp paper case and are denied bail. thousands of crores were involved in the corruption and lakhs and lakhs were given to police officers....
