Has anybody participated in extreme Thaipusam, like they have in Malaysia? If so, how did you feel when you have the vels pierced into you?
I participated in Thaipuyam in Kerala, I just had a vel through my cheeks, while carrying a kaavadi, and I tell you, when people are cheering you and the beat of the drum surrounds you (thakil & urumi), you don't feel anything. Anybody who as had experiences in Thaipusam, please feel free to share them.
