in texas simillar kind of accident happend but the one and half year old baby was saved ater 58 hour rescue operation.even a film was made on that incident.it was called 'everybodys baby-the rescue of jessica mclure'.
it was awell planed operation where every department of the state cooperated.
the tamilnadu goverment departments are not equiped for these kind of crisis situations.

First of all the Govt is not equipped mentally.
It does not care for such accidents to its
citizens. You know how much of money is spent
for security for VIP's? A small fraction of that
money is enough to buy enough equipment for the
Fire dept. for such emergencies.

Its the lack of public protest that makes such accidents repeat. ( raise banners and sit on the middle of the road.)

It shows the usual 'lack of care' attitude of Chennaivasigal. Though the entire incident was shown as news in major TV channels, the reaction was minimal(Thanks to the neighbours of the incident who did all prayers and rescue efforts).
Even today you can witness the fellow passengers ignore the wandals/thugs teasing and harassing girls inside the public transport buses.
To some extend our law procedures are also responsibile for this 'lack of care' attitude of people. The law process is so complex and corrupted that nobody wants to get involved.

its not only in chennai. its all over india. people are indifferent to such wrong happenings around them. Even when i was there, i was the same. Now, i feel i should do something - but i'm in the US. May be when i go to india back i'll do something about it.
And, i'll be happy if somebody takes-up things like this and demonstrate their protest.

It is late time some men with common sense is introduced into the trauma care agencies. The first thing that will happen in a circumstance of trauma is a pandimonium. That should be avoided at any cost. The parents of the boy in this case, should have been kept some other place atleast. That would have reduced the severity and grief of the situation and would have promoted much better ideas.
I wonder why no one was introduced into the borewell with sufficient oxygen suppy through a tube, upside down being tied at his legs, with a head-torch, on a pully...just like introducing a bucket on pully to pick water. A lean person or a teenager of sufficient courage would have done the job rightly.
Any way there should be organizations or agencies specially equipped for attending such traumatic and emergent situations. It is sad that our existing agencies miserably failed in doing the job in the right way at the right time. The poor boy...Tamil Mani will remain as a reminder for us to do this at the earlist...so I wish !!

The following article lists the number of deaths caused by the water tank lorries in madras since january this year.
It is sad that people are not safe on roads even in a metropolitan city like chennai. [1] unlicensed drivers [2] drunken driving [3] pathetic vehicle conditions [4] pathetic road conditions.

Im sorry to say this...non Madrasis must be fortunate for what(and where)they are.The authorities can't even take enough courage to save a little boy's live ,let alone the whole madrasis.Couldn't say more rather than sending heartfelt condolences to the family.
