A friend of mine who is from coastal Karnataka is arguing with me that people from a few communities in Udupi area (like the Kamats) run the restaurant business in the entire South of India, but I dont think that is true at all, particularly in Kerala, Tamilnadu and Andhra.

Who are the others in the restaurant business ? There must be many !

  Yup ,Even Naidu and Brahmin community run hotel business in coimbatore, Tamilnadu .
  
  
  You might have heard about " Sri Krishna Sweets " famous of its sweets , is founded by a Brahmin man . The famous "Annapoorna & Gowrishankar " in coimbatore is founded and owned by a Naidu man
  
  So nowadays , there is no casteism in running restuarents business ,where there is profit people get into the business ...
