I suggest you run ScanDisk - thorough.

TB- is that what you people learn in comp sci.. about the wonders of ScanDisk?!? Allow an AMERICAN to have a shot at the problem!
Harsha- try creating another yahoomail account and see if you can access mail with that. If that account doesn't work either then something may be wrong with your computer, either with the software or the hardware. If worse comes to worse you may have a virus.
If the alternate account does work, or if you are not able to access yahoomail on somebody else's computer, then the account is messed up. You should email the yahoo people to fix it.
Try either of these and let us know what's up!

Before going to a doctor, you run ScanDisk because of those two reasons. Comp Sc. 101!

Hello ,
The problem is with corruption of windos 98/2000 which would have been bugged.Try de-bugging or ask your computer supplier to reinstall windows after you format your C drive.

the best options are in the following order.
1. go and delete all the cookies. you can manually do this.
2. try opening it from a cyber cafe and clear the security options that you might have enabled.
3. reinstall the operating system. (Windows)
4. write to yahoo.
scaning the hard dsk sometimes helps, if any file fragments are lost, it could fix this. So T.B's advise is not altogether wrong.

Harsha
1. Pick up phone
2. Dial, "person who fixes computer"
3. Act hyterical and say things like my " I cannot open my e-mail."
4. replace phone and reapply lipstick.

Bah (spelled in Tamil, "paa"). Scandisk has done nothing for me! Just a waste of time, waiting for all the million-odd clusters to be scanned. At least the De-frag program has a neato visual psychedelic thing going on!

Better solution: Sell your computer and buy a new one :)) just kidding.
Ganesh.

Nisala,

Whatever makes you happy!
P.S. - Usually, you run ScanDisk before the Defrag. They go hand in hand ;)

If you are using IE, then go to tools> options> security and set the level to default. I think this would work. Are u behind any firewall by the way?

you could try using a proxy server, that might work

Go to Dos prompt. Before deleting autoexec.bat, append the following to config.sys, "I want my yahoo mail account to work properly", and then restart the computer in MS-Dos Mode.
(Just Kidding ! Don't try that, OK ?)

Well, i'm not sure if you ever got this think fixed or not but alot of these aren't going to help you. I think your cookie drop from the web site is fine .. if it wasn't you would just pop back at the log in screen .. It sounds like the java that they run is not running correctly with IE (if this is what you are running) .. IF you have win 98 or 98se I would upgrade your IE to 5.5 and if you are running XP or ME upgrade to 6 .. If you are already upgraded you can goto control panel then to add remove programs and choose to "add/remove windows components" and choos the option to fix internet explorer .. if you are running netscape then I would re download that and reinstall it .. but completely vamping your OS would more than likely fix it but it kinda like rebuilding an engin to change the oil.
Best of luck.
