SUBJECT :- RAPE OF 17 YER OLD IS SHOCKING !

Dear Sir/Madam,
Today I was shocked and livid when I read that a Hawker had Raped a 17 year old Girl of N.M. College.As Iam a practicing Counsellor,may I suggest a few steps to prevent this kind of a crime ?
Firstly,it is necessary for every girl and woman,especially those who are good looking, to give a great deal of importance to physical fitness and knowledge of martial arts.In case she not of a strong physique, she should carry a small but sharp knife on her person (and use it when necessay), like the "KIRPAN", which sikh men carry.
Secondly, every girl and woman should be care ful and not familiarise themselves with men who are strangers,let alone go with them.Some criminals resort to "HYPNOSIS" perfom their crime, be it robbing a bank customer or even RAPE.So it is advisable to be alert and not look into the eyes of a stranger while talking to him.
Thirdly those who commit or attempt to commit Rape should be deprived of their ability to have sex,i.e. CASTRATED !
I pray to God that the Teenage Girl recovers soon and receives justice, but no justice can compensate the physical pain and anguish she has suffered !

  India is a country of culture. so, action being taken on eve-teasers till now--can be applicable to high-class, "westernized" women as well? dont they have enough money for dresses? what a way to utilize freedom!!!!

  Nope. Dressing like a "westernized" woman is not a crime, but taunting people on the street is a crime.

  I just read all of your responses and each one of them has somthing that is true. Except that one person saying women should be raped...yes, very revealing clothes make men go wacko, but those who can't control urges go to the life of crime. I know a girl from India. She's my best friend. I love her like a sister, and we are totally identical. One day she just told me, "I'm moving to Oregon today. Don't tell anyone." I thought she was joking, but she wasen't. She didn't want everyone to make a fuss about leaving. I had a feeling she wasen't coming back in a month like she said. I said goodbye to her as if Iwould never see her again. At the end of school, I hugged her chocking in my tears. The next day, everyone found out she moved. And that same day, I knew somthing about her she told no one about but her boyfriend. He told she moved because her STEPDAD was abusing and raping her now and then. I cried for HOURS. He told me a time when she stood behind her door screaming for mercy and help. But her MUSLIM mother just let it happen. HER mother allowed her own daughter to be raped ONE ROOM away from her by the STEPDAD. Is this right in India? Could her mother do something about it? Is that how the religion goes? My good friend didn't tell the police or somthing, because she "forgived" him. Is that how things work?! I bet my LIFE he didn't care!! I cry at the thought of someone who doesn't want their "freedom" taken away from them, but it happens. Tell me "readers", what is a woman, or teenager, or a CHILD do then? And I don't think the "I have aids" thing will work in this scenario. The rapist does't care! He's gona die ANYWAY!!
