hi guys I stay in one of te cities in eastern europe. It was always disgusting to watch that whenever chinese people come closer the europeans jerk from that vicinity. But this doesn`t happen when they encounter with indians. They even produce a nice smile.
But they treat chinese a real scorn full look.
Last time when some chinese came from singapore they were beaten right in front of their own people and theirs without any reason. when Enqiured the boys just said they look ugly with their yellow skins and squint eyes.

I don`t want to name the country where these happen ,But the chinese must be cautious than before not to venture into dangerous waters.
Last november when the special task forces came into checking into the markets they left all but the chinese and stripped them till they stood with their under garments in the freezing cold.and worse still the chinese ladies were checked by the male police officersand god knows what they did only we heard screams and cries and all of us just stood and listened,by the time those ladies came out they were mostly covered with bruises all over the face because only that part of the body was visible.
Some of them huddled together and we noticed some of them bleeding. The men had a poor fate somehow, they had to stand in the clod and frost of -5degrees outside temp and most of them were called in one by one and beaten till the inch of their lives.god help the chinese.

gameer, which country is this? they shd b sued 4 racism. i hear that americans r more averse 2 chinese than the indians in their own closed conversations (they call the chinese as `pigs' like `niggers' 4 blacks) . guess they c the chinese as real competitors. hence, the fear.

This must be mainland Chinese who are sneaking into so many different countries under some guise! Still, nobody deserves to be treated bad because of their race alone. It should always be based on individual actions.
M'sian Indians should know what discrimination is. We suffer from it almost daily!

yes this must b illegal mainland chinese who sneaked into some eastern european country who were abused at the market...but what abt those singaporean chinese boys beaten up simply for appearances that displease a white man. so much for looks. some white men don't like the way non-whites look. some mongloid races don't like the way non-mongloid ppl look. some browns and blacks don't like the way non-browns and non-blacks look...well love 4 the same kind is everywhere. but racism is taking things too far and involves abuse of this kind. hey which top 10 cities of eastern europe hv special task forces that go chking in markets? any guesses??

I am living in Germany for the last 25 years. I can hardly believe that I missed such a message. I am quite sure she/he is binding us a cow at our feet.

the country's singapore bingo...haha...chk out the .sg she has...
ok listen..cant blame the chinoisie..mebbe they had some encounter of the nasal kind sitting next to a poor labourer they transported from india.
BUT YES...dramatic shifting of sats and emergency sealing of noses is prejudice and narrow mindedness to the extreme.
So the next time some body does that...you just have to feel sorry for the poor dumb sucker...such a narow field of vision!!!
and meanwhile...lets not forget their coffee shops stink to the highest heaven...or hell..and yuck that painful swtinky national dish"chicken rice" pukey maaan
sad country...forgive the lesser mortals.. we know the world has so much more than prejudices based on the colour of the skin or the size of the eye...

guru...u sound pretty prejudiced yourself with u'r dislike 4 chicken rice and coffee shops that according 2 u stink. as an indian i know better than 2 stay quiet coz v know how places in india stink. better 2 take a hard long look at ourselves and get our act straight than 2 dig out negativities in the other just to console ourselves that its okay 2 b the way v r.

So anybody have any doubts that chinese don`t stink.Just try to enter their kitchen after they finish cooking ,God knows what they cook But it is really morbid to see and smell their kitchen, and also their laundry.so we try to finish our cooking before these people start theirs so that we can avoid some unpeasant experience.

gameer, its all abt what v r used 2 (eating, smelling and seeing) since childhood. u know some singaporean chinese can't stand the smell and taste of some our heavenly curries and sweets....its all abt our likes, exposure and orientation i guess....well, as much as i like chinese food, i don't think i can eat cooked civet cat meat for example...but ppl getting beaten up 4 no fault of theirs is pure racism and racism is BAD.

Hi all,
My name's Ben, and i happen to be a Singaporean Chinese living abroad. I happen to bump onto this site when i was searching on a topic about Ugly Singaporeans no less.
After reading some of the posts here, i felt regrettably sorry, for what most of you have went through or have encountered. I am especially apologetic to "Madhu" who had to bear with such inconsiderat acts. If yall would allow me to explain my opinion:

Travelling has been a large facet of my life. Being naturally observant, i never stop short to reflect on peoples' actions (whether they be in a kopi-tiam, MRT, lift, airplanes, social gatherings and even toilets) and try to give an explanation on why such is happening. These also fuel my interactions with frens and colleagues as i didnt want a one-sided opinion. However the opinion emerge, i always respect it, as an opinion never really is absolute in truth, but only in reaction.

First off, lemme explain on Madhu's unfortunate incident. I feel those reactions are especially prominent in the older generation of Chinese women. Simply because of a few reasons, 1) There is a smell, 2) they are a bit of a racist 3) They are ignorant. I have many Indian friends, and many i can discuss stuff like these openly. I am also fortunate enough to be able to stay with their hospitable family for a week and through that, i was able to come out with explanations. Most, and i say most not all indians have a smell. It does not stink, neither would i consider it pleasant. Many i observe was becoz they have creme or oil on their hair, which might smell of coconut, while others simply smell like...curry.

Apparently "HappyIndian" is rite, most people or specifically races develop a smell that is perhaps distinct in their own ways. For indians i feel, curry/mutton/coconut are the more distinct smell i've encountered. For Malays, a minority of them may smell rather like cookie/oily/or something i can't relate. Chinese people, more distinctly have a smell in their homes. As a Chinese, perhaps i could have develop an immunity to fellow Chinese smells because frankly i could never tell a distinct smell from a person other than the occassional BO. But i would really like to know if Chinese people, perhaps might smell like pigs? :P

Nontheless, the message i would like to get across is this, the actions of many people that are considered offensive will most likely come from people who are less educated and more likely to be ignorant of our differences. When cultures clash, one can expect mayhem, difficulty in reasoning, and unfamiliarity. As many people may already have experienced it: We fear, what we do not understand.

Hence, i would appeal to all of you here, to be patient with the ignorant, and chivalrous for the unfamiliar. Skin color should never be used as an excuse to breed contempt. We are all made the same, eyes, ears, nose, hands and feet, but it is easy to see, how color alone can breed so much prejudice in people, simply because its the only difference anybody can spot and be used as an excuse.

A final note: if i have accidentally offended someone in my posts, i can only apologize for my opinions. It was never meant to spark an outrage, but only to share opinions on our indiference.
