he is a well educated person and from reputed family. brainy and also he is kind of person who is afraid for god. he got a friend who is already married. he goes to his friends home regularly ... speaks well there and all..

but this person spreading kind of wrong info to his friends.. like his friends wife is like this... like that... can be but in front of her he speaks very nice.

hey ppl .. can you please suggeset how to tackle this person

  I think you should talk to this guy directly and tell him that his casual remarks might be damaging an innocent person's reputation and there might be long lasting negative consequences for her. If he is truly god-fearing, that should stop him.

  Before you get the 3 of them to sit together, the best thing to do is confront this gossipper and ask him what was really going on. There are men that start rumours out of their own insecurities!! On the other hand may be this woman is forward thinking, whereas the gossipper could be a conservative person and so is misunderstanding/analyzing her every move.

  It's not good to involve the husband now as Shakthi said. Also :)'s idea of asking the gosspier to know what was really going on will not result in anything. He may still tell lies if he is lying.
  Some other friend like MVS has to meet this woman and tell her "We heard some news about you. And the news is coming from this person. We dont want to know what is happening. Take some action".
  If the woman is not pichippoo she will get angry and ask the gossiper not to come to their house.
  If she is pichippoo she may realize her fault and correct her actions.
  In the worst case she will continue the pichippoo nadavadikkai by warning this gosspier not to tell the other people. Any idea how to prevent this worst situation?

  for all you know, the gossiper (reputable family and all) might have tried to chat up the girl and she probably snubbed him, so the gossiper goes around talking ill of her :)
