There was another thread opened on the subject but I could find it therefore, I am starting a sequel. I was at an indian store and tried to look for shikakai. I found a soap bar, with the title shikakai. Does it come in that form? Then how do you apply that to your hair? I thought it would be in liquid form. Can anyone explain? And if anyone can give some names of mild shampoos, it would be great. I checked around some department stores, but none of the description said that.

I think u mean wipro's shikkakai soap.It is meant to apply to hair but it is in no way a substitute for real shikakai. If u want a branded shikakai then ask for "meera" or "raaga" shikakai(they are brand names and come in plastic containers)
If you want a mild herbal based shampoo then ask for "sunny" shampoo which is a mild herbal based one and comes in many fragrances like arnica, almond etc.,There are also other brands like "premium" which too come in many fragrances.I think you can get these product in any indian stores and if you cant get them then try buying through some cyber herbal shops dealing in indian cosmetics.
