Well, as the name itself suggests, I would like to talk about Machiavellian leaders in today's world. They can be leaders of a country or a big institution. Can somebody give a list of some people who fall under the category...

  Well when I saw the thread I thought O Wow! there isn't any space to list all of them. But on second thoughts none of the present day leaders come anywhere close to the standards set by Machiavelly...except perhaps the American President. I am not naming names, but whoever it is seems to have the same policy. Set one nation against the other and reap the benefits and consolidate your own power.
  Incidentally WIC, have you been to Iran. The revolution against the Shah could have been the best thing that could have happened for the country at the time. The Shah and his cronies were milking the country dry. Look at what it is today people are much more prosperous. And except for having to wear the Burkha (not purdah mind you)the women of Iran are one of the most emancipated among the islamic countries. True there are chances for further reforms but it is a much better country than western media would like to paint it.

  The reason for attacking Iraq is WMD.

  No people they have pumped out almost3/4 of Iraqi oil deposits by now.
