The Continuing Pressure of Children
Contrary to denials by the LTTE leader and the claim by the LTTE spokesman, Mr. Balasingam, that young children who came to them are being handed back to the parents and receipts obtained, any change appears to be merely cosmetic. Reports of a high incidence of conscription have been appearing for 8 months, and continued into the month of May 2002. There are no indications of any qualitative change on the ground.
5.1. The Untold Story
Mas. Kathirkamathamby Pathmasri (15) of Vilavedduvan, Navatkadu, Batticaloa District, was taken by the LTTE on 14th March 2002. He escaped and returned home on 1st April. The LTTE area leader, Mohan, came home in search of him the same day. Having found Pathmasri, he began assaulting him mercilessly with the intention of taking him back. Watching helplessly and unable to bear the sight of her son being mauled, Pathmasri's mother, Mrs.Pathmavathy Sivakolunthu (47), took poison and was admitted to Batticaloa Hospital, where she recovered.
Mas. P (17) of Trincomalee went with the LTTE after a propaganda meeting on 15th March 2002. He was taken for training to Raalkuli, about 5 miles from Alankerni towards Mutur. This is evidently a smaller training camp where those brought are kept for less than two weeks before being sent to the base at Koonitivu. He escaped on 21st March. According to his testimony, 175 youths were under training at Raalkuli, of whom 75 were under 15 years of age. Of the latter, above a dozen were about 10 years old.
The following four children escaped from the LTTE's training camp in Uppaar, near Alankerni, and surrendered to the Police at China Bay, Trinco District, on 6th April 2002, They have stated they were forcibly taken.
Mas. James Ganeshton alias Mathan (age 14) of main Street, Anandapuri, 3rd Mile Post, Trincomalee. Taken 12th February 2002.
Mas. Nishantan Shanmugam alias Vamadevan (14) of Pulithevanager, 3rd Mile Post, Trincomalee. Taken 15th March 2002.
Mas. Varatharajan Krishnan alias Eelaventhan (15) of 233. Mariamman Kovil Rd, Gandhi Nagar, Trincomalee. Taken 14th February 2002.
Mas. Satyaseelan Kuhathas (16) of 294/19. Puthukkudyiruppu, Thuwarankadu, 3rd MP, Trincomalee. Taken 16th February 2002.
Mas. Balakrishnan Latchumanan (17) of 3. Alady Rd., Thonikkal, Vavuniya, has been in the custody of the Vavuniya Police since January 2002. He was recruited in 1999 at the age of 13.

I just wanted to stop at the Form Hub to share this interesting article with you people. I read this in Fridays paper. It’s a reply from Ranil Wickremesinghe to Chandrikaka BandaraYaka’s letter accusing Ranil of neglecting the National Security of Sri Lanka. I found this interesting for it really shows the class of RRRRRRRRrrrrrrrranil ..he never shows his teeth..always plays it cool..but when he does show his teeth..he does it with style…hahaha a great chap that mr.Ranil..
Sorry about the CAPS I am using at certain points while copying the article. The CAPS indicate that I was just really EXCITED while typing it…hahahaha………Just picturing ChadriKAKA’s face when reading this is just too funny….and it doesn’t take a genius to notice how Mr.Ranil is acting like a lawyer for the LTTE…..GO RANIL !!!!!!!!!!!!! ..We’ll build a statue of you in Tamil Eelam ! hahahahahahahahaha

TRINCO SECURITY : PM WRITES TO PRESIDENT
With regard to your statements about the threat to the Trincomalee Naval Base an Harbour and overall national security , we need to place all these in the correct perspective. As Minister of Defense and Finance you were in complete charge of the subjects of Security and Finance and enjoyed unchallenged power and authority as regards security and the finances to ensure security untill end of 2001.
BUT WHAT A SORRY PASS WE HAD COME TO BY THEN. WE HAD LOST THE WHOLE OF THE WANNI , AFTER “JAYA SIKURU” ALONG THE A9 , HAD BEEN REPULSED AND TURNED BACK. MANKULAM , KILINOCHCHI , POONERYN AND MULLAITIVU HAD FALLEN. BY 1995 YOU HAD WITHDRAWN ALL THE TROOP DETACHMENTS STATIONEND IN THE SAMPUR AREA OVERLOOKING TRINCOMALEE HARBOUR. THE HEAVY WEAPONRY OF THE LTTE IN THE TRINCOMALEE AREA WAS ALSO BROUGHT IN DURING THIS PERIOD.
YOU EVEN LOST ELEPHANT PASS , OUR MAJOR FORTRESS IN THE NORTH WHIH HAD NEVER BEEN BREACHED IN THE 20 YEARS OF WAR , AND AT THE END OF YOU TENURE AS MINISTER OF DEFENCE YOUR GOVERNMENT WAS ASKING INDIA TO EVACUATE OUR TROOPS FROM JAFFNA. FINALLY YOU PERMITTED AN ARMED INFILTRATION INTO THE KATUNAYAKE AI BASE WHICH DESTROYED ALMOST HALF OUR AIR FLEET AND DEPRIVED THE NATION OF THE ONE STRIKE FORCE IN WHICH WE HAD UNDOUBTED SUPREMACY.
IT IS A WELL KNOWN FACT THAT IN SUCCESIVE DEFEATS THAT OUR GALLANT SECURITY FORCES SUFFERED WERE AS A RESULT OF DECISIONS TAKEN BASED ON PARTY POLITICAL EXPEDIENCY AS OPPOSED TO CONSIDERED STRATEGIC DECISION MAKING.
YOU ARE ALSO WELL AWARE THAT IN ORDER TO CONCEAL THE NUMBER OF CASUALTIES OF THESE DEBACLES , THE THEN GOVERNMENT DELIBERATELY REFUSED TO ACCEPT THE BODIES OF HUNDREDS, IF NOT THOUSANDS , OF BRAVE SONS AND DAUGHTERS WHO HAD LAID DOWN THEIR LIVES TO PROTECT THE INTEGRITY OF OUR NATION.
AS A RESULT THE LTTE WERE COMPELLED TO DISPOSE OF THESE BODIES BY BURING THEM.
WITH THIS SORRY TRACK RECORD OF FAILURE IN IMPLEMENTING NATIONAL SECURITY THE PEOPLE OF OUR COUNTRY ARE HARDLY LIKELY TO WELCOME BEING PROPELLED TO WAR ON THE BASIS OF WHAT HAS BEEN MENTIONED IN YOUR LETTER.
I would like you to appreciate what the people have overwhelmingly accepted. That is what we have come out of a situation of war and are enjoying a period of peace – now 19 months continuously – in which people in all parts of the country are picking up the threads of their lives and going about their daily business without fear. Numerous economic indices point to this an anyone who looks around the country can see for herself or himself what peace has brought about. This is a huge difference from the state which we were in at the end of 2001.
Finally , Madam President even at this stage let us both pledge to stop parochial political debates on issues connected with defense of our nation We owe it to the people of this country and the future generations to at least isolate this critical aspect of government from the shallow politics we appear to indulge in on a regular basis.

HOW DID HE WIN ??????????????????????????????
THE ELECTION OFFICIALS AT LINDERUD CENTRE IN OSLO WERE HORRIFIED WHEN A VOTER, OLE ELVEDAL COMPLAINED THAT THERE WERE SEVERAL PRE-ARRANGED LABOUR PARTY-BALLOTS WITH VOTES FOR BALASINGHAM ALREADY MARKED AT THE BOOTH. ACCORDING TO THE ELECTION LAW IT IS PERMITTED TO DELIVER PREARRANGED PREFERENTIAL BALLOTS TO VOTERS ON THE STREET, BUT SUCH BALLOT PAPERS CANNOT BE BROUGHT INTO THE POLLING CENTRES.
SPEAKING TO THE DAGSAVISEN, THE VOTER SAID, "WHEN I WENT INTO THE VOTING CUBICLE AND SELECTED A LABOUR PARTY BALLOT PAPER TO VOTE THAT PARTY AND ITS CANDIDATES, I DISCOVERED THAT CANDIDATE NO. 21 WAS ALREADY MARKED WITH A CROSS. I WENT THROUGH THE ENTIRE BUNCH OF BALLOTS, AND FOUND THREE BALLOTS THAT WERE ALREADY MARKED AND THEN I BROUGHT IT TO THE NOTICE OF THE OFFICIALS".
NORWAY, WHICH BOASTS OF AN IMPECCABLE DEMOCRACY IS SHOCKED TO LEARN THAT THE RECENTLY CONCLUDED ELECTIONS TO THE OSLO CITY COUNCIL HAVE BEEN RIGGED. THE BALLOT PAPERS IN THE POLLING STATION HAD ALREADY BEEN MARKED IN FAVOUR OF LABOUR PARTY-POLITICIAN AND LTTE ACTIVIST, BALASINGHAM YOGARAJAH
SOME VOTERS, WHO WANTED TO VOTE FOR LABOUR PARTY AND PICKED UP THE BALLOT PAPER OF THAT PARTY, FOUND THAT SOMEBODY HAD ALREADY CROSS-MARKED IT IN FAVOUR OF THE CANDIDATE NO 21 YOGARAJAH BALASINGHAM, THE LTTE LEADER IN NORWAY WHO CONTESTED ON THE LABOUR PARTY TICKET.

Do you call these stories, untold stories??? Fool!!What do you have to say to the parents of the Tamil children, whom the SLA are torturing and killing? These parents die too... By the way LTTE doesn't kill fare as many civilians as SLA. LTTE destroys specific targets, but SLA destroys villages and civilians... Plz try hear what the HUMAN RIGHTS groups are saying about LTTE and SLA...
