Pakistan's Future

Pakistan has decided to help fight the Telebans whom it nurtured for years. Will there be a political uprising within Pakistan? Will this lead to the end of Pakistan's fight for Kashmir? Will the Talebans destroy Pakistan? Will Pakistanis leave their country for India? Should India shut its borders tight? Will Musaharaf be assassinated by a Pakistani?
Please post your opinion.

Pakistan's future lies in its mouth. The only way it can survive and continue its gutter business is by giving the U.S. a BLOW JOB now and then!!

dear wise man,
the blow job, you have referred about must be quite an enjoyable and fruitful one, it seems. then, our own prime minister did everything to take turns and to give pakistan some rest. but the wily mushraff didn't allow us. however, this time atleast we have wrested the nuts though he kept the fruit with himself.

We don't need to worry about Pak as its own stupidity and backwardness will be its undoing. You know, some Pakis actually BELIEVE that Pak won the wars against India (1971 etc). Like, talk about major propaganda here!!! Pretty sad i think. And the funniest thing is that they are so proud of their little S H I T hole!!

dear wise man,
what a kind of cruel satisfaction we have.......usa ends up the real winner. whether we like it or not washington has become the super cop of the world as the entire comity of nations including our own super patriots are ready to kneel even when we are asked only to bend. our strength is exposed on the helicopter issue in chennai. can our chopper fly like that over newyork. so, we are all slaves....waiting for the crumbs, which that economic super power may throw at us and we do not stand in a better position than that of pakistan. shed of all this jingoism and accept the reality........

You are right. India is in a weak position and US is strong. But, we have only ourselves to blame. Starting from Nehrus and Gandhis and all the way to Karunanidhis and Laloo Yadavs, we never got our priority right. A nation that has eunuchs for leaders shall end up weak.
If India needs to emerge strong (which it can) we need leaders who are proud of our identity and heritage. Such leaders should have the vision to transform India into a power. Unless we nurture the best talent and build military technology, there is no way we shall become either a military or economic power.
If we radically change the way we think and shed all slavish mentality and inferiority complexes, perhaps in 20 years from now, we can emerge as a power to reckon with.

US does not seem to be inclined to take revenge against Pakistan for its direct and indirect involvement in 9-11. In fact it seems as if the pro-Musharraf drama in the west in the wake of the attacks was no pretence afterall. For sometime Indians were hoping that it was all one big charade to trap Musharraf. They were encouraged when US reneged on promises (to Pakistan) like not allowing NA into Kabul and when Rumsfeld talked about preference for killing the 'foreign' Taliban elements. But the recent US collabaration in allowing the airlift of Pakistani army men from Konduz has dashed all such hopes.
To top it, the Pakistan-hating-NA is actually responding positively to Musharraf's overtures of friendship. I will not be surprised if NA starts ruling all of Afghanistan with Pakistan's help.
The US will park itself in Afghanistan, to make sure that there are no anti-US activities and to secure Central Asian oil. Kashmir situation will get worse. UK and US will force India to the negotiating table, where POK will merge with Pakistan and Indian Kashmir will become an independent state.
What can you expect in a country where the defence minister is treated so badly in the Parliament by the opposition, when the country's security is in grave danger.

sugutha,
first ask our defence minister to comb his hair properly and sport a new attair. defence minister is also required to reflect the professionalism of our defence forces. why these pretensions.

What for? He is part of the civilian excutive and not a member of the defence. Isn't that what democracy is all about? Civilians ruling supreme over the armed forces. Perhaps what you state applies for Pakistan, where every minister is either a military man or a mullah.

my dear katrtic,
my concern is the empty pretensions. if the defence minister is poor enough to buy a neat dress, i wont mind. when gandhiji went to england as half naked, it was critisied but i feel that he had a message to the british imperilaists. he even looked at it light heartedly by saying that the king had dressed enough for both. besides, gandhiji did not represent the government but the common people of india as they were then.
but this defence minister does not have the honesty of gandhiji. he spoiled the minds and lives of so many workers in bombay by his stirke calls, which his desciple sharad rao is carrying on even today. he threatened to strom to posh malabar hill residences if proper water was not supplied to the slums nearby. the conditions has not changed even today. will he do it now??? or if anybody does it will he stand by him. he boasted that he would throw the coca cola out of india, pushing india into socialistic backwardness. he boasted himself to be a peacenik. now he hails neuclearisation of india.
if a company suffers losses, its executives are axed. this defence minister and his cronies with their archaic ideas and impractical principles pushed india into its present status. any of these politicians have the guts to apologise to the people for this. still, they prefer to change colour and without any shame coming back to our homes for votes.......
i have gone astray from this thread. it is only the voices that have come in defece of the defence minister made me to say this.
pakistan or india, both are the same. accusing each other is like pot calling the kettle black.

Pothigai,
There are much more. He was the number one behind falling of the Morarji ministry. The issue raised by him was dual membership. He was staunch opposer of RSS. Now he is the spokesman of RSS. Now the BJP and prefers him over many of their own leaders. If Jaya Jetley permits he will try to topple this ministry and become the number one critic of RSS again. But t Jaya wont like to lose the flow of commission she is getting.Neither George will like to lose Jaya.
