Are you happy?

Hey, just wondering if people out there have come to terms with themselves. Even though life isn't ideal, are you happy? And how and why are you happy?
I am kind of finding that being happy is nothing elated, just steady and low profile and sometimes you don't think about it at all. What's it like for you? and if you aren't happy, why not?

I guess he means "trans-sexual surgery" since Roshan sounds like a GUY rather than a GIRL. But you never know.

Oh no! Sorry Roshan!!:) I have no idea how to tell a masculind Indian name from the femine!
I thought your named souded quite French....Rochelle, Rochan,... you know? And sometimes I feel a feminine energy radiating from some people. It's a good thing that makes me somehow understand the other person's comments better. Sometimes, I feel a masculine energy. It is quite direct and that is good too.
I am happy when I connect with individuals through the internet, more than even romance!
I can't go back to normal dating! (Not that this dating, but its alot more interesting than sitting in some lame movie for 2-3 hours and feeling dull afterwards). All I wanted from dating was exchange of ideas, but you gotta spend money on movie, dinner, spend time figuring out body language!
Forums beat romantic dating!! This makes me slightly,.... happy. ;)

Ellen, I agree people in person are pains in the arse, but I know I've an inner sociophobe saying that. 'Getting over' socialisation isn't easy, but is internet socialising the end, a stepping stone or a regressive escape route?

No, internet socializing isn't the end of your social life and shouldn't be! It may be stepping stone for some, and regressive ecape route for others. For me, internet, I find is a much better way to get to know a person's ideals, goals, and personhood better without the distractions of physical appearance. I personally find that it is definitely a new route for me, since I have dated and gone out with friends. I've always thought meeting people was hard too, and since I like close interactions, one person or two, I kind of avoid large crowds (bars, clubs, etc) in which i can't be myself richly and meaningfully.
I am no social phobe. I am extravert-introvert midway and can flex really easily. I'm not shy, but I used to be a social phobe, since I had strange men come up to me when I used to work in a hospital setting and tell me "You're so beau-ful" and so forth...I got tired of the external focus.
I am very content that I can find good conversation here on the net, especially good people who are intelligent. Here in the U.S, life is easier, esp. here in sunshiny Florida. People are nice and I find that I fit very well with whites, black, and others, even as an asian.
I enjoy internet, since I don't put much emphasis on looks and go straight to the heart, anyway... :)

Good, sorry I asked.
:)
(PS Did read your intellect piece, probably not adding my bit today as you've covered quite a lot.)

If you form nice friendships over the internet, it is just the same as having friends in real life, if you have a powerful imagination to see the other side smiling, as you do. :)

Ellen,
Not necessary for an apology, because you were 100% correct. YOu have proved that you are inteligent as always ha ha. Most of the people in this forum get confused with by name. BTW, I am not an Indian, I am a Sri Lankan.

Roshan, glad my intuitions are lubed and working! You are a Sri Lankan...is that sort of like a chinese vs. japnese, or is an indian and sri lankan more similar? Hve fun.
