  Most superstitions were time bound and probably has no relevance now. Placebo effect does not mean its a panacea or that superstitions must be followed even now. They may work for fever or headache. You would sue a doctor if he injects you just distilled water when you hand is broken or if you have gangrene in your leg or u had a heart attack. No harm in following superstitions, the problem comes only when people are dogmatic and carry things too far, like not accepting sutures made of animal gut when ur stomach has already been opened and things like that.
  
  Vivek has a lot of sense than we think and most importantly has the guts to call a spade a spade. The only point here is that he has got every RIGHT to criticise all those anachronistic, anti deluvian nonsense.

  irrespective of our debates, these are the facts..
  
  His way is bit different from the traditional comedy way ! And it is enjoyable.
  
  He is humerous.. and follows american way of critizising even the president..
  
  Atleast with his jokes, some movies are getting watchable.

  Do not blame Vivek. His talent is to make every one of us to laugh. He is succeeding in that.
  
  Hinduism is such a Great religion that it does not threaten the people(unlike other religions)that if you talk agianst God you will be punished.It is the religin for free thinkers.
  
  That is the reason Hindus are able to enjoy even jokes on Hindu gods or the tradition.
  
  I can explain this with one example.
  In "Minnale", vivek's comedy about the belief of
  the lorry driver that a lemon is to protect the vehicle. Every one enjoyed that scene. But if you think deep, when we (Hindus) buy a new vehicle we
  take that to a temple and do pooja.
  
  So Reality (the lemon or pooja really do not save the vehicle) but the belief (on God) saves you.
  
  That is the reason we can enjoy the scene even though it is a tradtion.

  Vivek's timing and wit is excellent.One can find a subtle, sarcasam in his comedy, in all respects, hence he critises not necessarily religions based practises.
  
  Regarding his comments on tradition and religion, if he practises or adopts a softer way of commenting on certain unwanted beliefs, he would avoid hurting ardent believers. This will also be an eye opener it will rather be a benefit to the society.

  Don't we know the in human caste designs of Hinduism ? therefore we all should convertto a new religion and abandon Hinduism. In hinduism, according to vedas.. we can eat any meat including beef. But according to bagavath geetha.. we should not eat non-veg. Therefore Hinduism is confusive, so it should be abandoned.
