What is a good online store or where in Tamil Naad can I get a good veshti and angavastram?

For the next Onam, I want a new veshti(mundu), and neriyathu(thundu). I want it to be silk with a very wide border etched in red AND gold threading, giving that shimmering red/gold effect, what is the best online store, or better yet, what is the best store in India that offers a big selection?

Hi Mani, how are you? Many stores in Nagercoil town sell mundu, neriyal (as it is called in that part of the world), even the mundu set worn by women, but I am not sure if you will be going that way.

Punnahai,
You know what I am talking about though, the typical sets worn by Sivaji Ganesan in Padaiyappa, Rajnikanth in Arunachalam, Karan in Thirunelveli, etc. I want that kind of variety.

This was my grandfather's attire, so yeah, I know what you mean. There are both cotton and silk versions of it and you get them both in Nagercoil in what is called Tower area (there's a clock tower there). Which cities are you visiting?
In other TN cities, I am sure any kanchi silk saree shop would have it.

Actually, I won't be visiting India anytime soon, last year I was infact in Nagerkoil on my way to Kanyakumari, but it somehow didn't hit me to get a couple of nice mundus. Either way, Nagerkoil is more practical for me anyway, since it is not too far from Kerala.

Thank you Punnahai for your help, as for chelippu, I don't know any good stores in Kerala that has the ones that curve up from the end, I saw a pair Karan was wearing in the movie Thirunelveli, that was my first time seeing white chelippu that curves up from the end, I really want those along with my mundu, Nagerkoil also has those?

Mani, for slippers I would say Bombay is the best place for all kinds of Indian curved slippers. You may want to stop in on your way in, unless you are flying direct to Cochin or TVM. At Bomby airport you will be able to keep your luggage in the luggage centre and go for a quick shopping. Best place for a quick shopping trip would be Colaba.

Punnahai,
Thank you so much for the information, I really appreciate it. That is what I am looking for, a nice mundu like that, and a nice pair of curved vela-chelippu.
