  I am amused by the postings in this thread. The topic itself has been forgotten. Some persons claim kamaraj is the best leader & others say that Muthuramalinga thevar is the best. Both proclaim that their leadres were above caste. Notjhinng can be farther from thr truth.
  
  All nadars gained a lot under kamaraj rule. Today, if almost every second vegetable shop is owned by a nadar, it is thanks to kamaraj. Muthuramalinga thevar - the name itself has caste in it. How can he be above caste?
  
  Let us accept the fact that both leaders worked only for the upliftment of their community.

  both are great leaders.But, the people after them are not good. Thevar and nadar are divisions among us. People must understand this truth. But, the city of madurai is ruined by thevar community by murder, kanthu vatti, kalla sarayam and robbery and like other sins. Nadar community cheated the goverment by not paying tax. so, both of them suck. Karunanidi is the great leader.

  All thevar community people claim they have history. Their community name is Kallar. Major part of thevar community people are kallars. The name itself tell about their work. Are they not ashamed about this?. Shed off all your false pride and understand the reality. All are equal. Truth cannot be hide. Thevars helps naidu and make fall of Pandya kingdom. In tamil nadu we call it as soram poittom. Who made this?. Pls no tamilian can claim veeran. We are not fit for this. we have lot of katti kudutha parambarai.   Ayya gave his own 26 villages and cultivation land which belong to his jaamin to the poor people who lived there,most remarkable thing in that, majority of the people who lived in those villages were belong to some other community
  I Don't thing we will get great leader like him!!!
  
  Kamaraj is also great leader who dedicate his whole life for the nation and for the people

  Hi, My Dear Friends, The topic is really what it was. Kamaraj Led Congress Government Harrased Pasumpon Thevar that is True. Why you people are fighting with the caste feud?? I don't know. These things happened an era before. Like now the congress was same before bickerings and disloyalty to the party was their. Pasumpon Thevar was a hardliner and Kamarjar was a Politician Like M.Karunanidhi. Kamarjar wanted to throw Thevar from the Congress Party and he wanted to mallify his image and the supremacy of Thevar in the party. So he won in it. But Thevar actually came out of congress and had a seperate out fit called Forward Block. This Forward Block under Thevar made Strong hold in the Southern districts of Tamil Nadu and there was a hatred brewed against Kamaraj. So some caste clashes and arrest of Thevar accusing him of murdering and charges were levelled against him. These are all political gimmicks. But Now the Present Situation is Nadars who have been developed with the help of Kamaraj have flourished with the business and they are rich now. Thevars doesn't have a unity and they were seperated by Late. M.G. Ramachandran and The Cheap Politician M. Karunanidhi were still fighting with each other. Nadar built so many colleges and institutions for their community. Only three colleges were there for Thevar that is in Thirunelveli, Usilampatti and Kamudhi all are Government Colleges which has been started and still runned coz of Thiru. P.K.Mookiah Thevar the erstwhile noble man. Being a Majority they have more than 130 Assembly members (M.L.A.'s) in all the Party D.M.K., A.D.M.K. These Thevar cannot able to capture the power. Another Thing Madam. Sasikala her family members Mr. Dinakaran has not done anything to the Thevar Community but they are having a whooping welcome and vote bank in Southern districts. I do know why the thing is they earned for their family but they does'nt done any thing for the community but the community people are celebrating her. I do know why??? The Vanniyars in the Northern belt also betrayed by the Dravidian party has a strong hold in their region they are now united under Dr.Ramadoss(but he is also a selfish political Leader) sells his community for Power, Anbumani's Uprising. And the Kongu Vellala Gounder's in the Western belt also a good majority business people have a majority in the Kovai, Pollachi, Udumalaipet holds a strong hold and they are peacefully living. At last the Dalits in the Southern Districts (Thevar, Nadar Belt) Eastern Districts (Chidambaram, Ariyalur, Kadalur Belt) dominated by vanniyar doesn't have good leaders all are selfish leaders. They too are still strugling. So in this Context Caste is the main reason for a party and political leader (If you celebrate Nadars then you will get a good vote bank in southern districts) If you celebrate a vanniar (the party will get a good vote bank in Northern districts) This is the fate of Tamil Nadu and no one can change the Fate of Tamil Nadu Even the God the Almighty cannot change it. Actors also cannot change the scenario coz., they will be questioned what caste they belong. The fate lies in the hands of Karunanidhi and Jayalalitha. So Don't fight with ourself if you wish to be good leave all those caste hatred and live peacefully and make the nation a better place to live..bye.

  Hi friends, recently I find the tamilians being divided in the name of castes system of aryan culture. One of the Tamil dravidian communities, Thevars, are victims of their design. They mainly support the AIDMK which is presently a party of Brahmanical terrorism being led by a brahmin chawinist Jayalalitha. The brahmins will just use them and throw when they don't require them more.

  Sorry, a correction...... By 'brahmin' I mean those who follow brahmanism(sanathana dharma, Gowthama dharma sastra, Manu shastra, etc..). And I am not saying about entire brahmins.

  Thevar lived and died for the people of India. He was honest, daring and bold in his entire public and personal life. He was uncompromising in exposing the people to the truth as he saw it. Thevar was bringing out the misrule of Kamaraj-led congress government at the state and the Nehru-led congress government at the center. Nehru and Kamaraj could not take it and hence it is alleged that a conspiracy was hatched to silent Thevar's bold voice against their misrule. Let us bring caste into the picture as it was done at the time of conspiracy in 1957. It is important to remember that Thevar was not after power as Kamaraj was, among other things.
