They say that everything right from motor vehicles to cooking items like chicken, mutton and milk are going to be imported from china. They are going to be priced so low that for example 1 kg of chicken is going to cost just Rs.15/-Is it possible? If so, will not the Indian producers be affected badly?(its for sure i will go for chinese product if it is much less than our local products)Post your views.

Let us learn lessons from china:
they are far ahead of us in mechanisation and adopting new technologies with such huge population and high productivity they can produce any thing including moon at a very cheap pricel
It is utter nonsense to tell that they proudce substandard quality items. given the half price of what our industries are procuing they will give 4 times better quality.
I have already done imports they are able to do it for the following reasons:
1. Electricity is cheap
2. they have huge domestic volume ( no competion from out side even if tried not feasible)
gives breakeven and all export is subsidised.
3. intrest rates are 5 %
4. raw materials are proucred under single govt majore import houses and distributed at lesser rates and credits adjusted against exports
(no inventory working capital)
5. Highly sophisticated machines of mass production
6. Higly disciplined innovative and motivated work force with patriotism for their country
( a clock combination of 250 different items)
7. no expensive marketting, tv and other fooling expenitures what multinational and other consumer goods manufactring companies are doing in INdia
8. LEss overheads ( no expensve managers)
9. They belive in e market and most of their goods are exhibited in internet and orders received through internet and trade fairs
we can go on adding feathers to the crown
LEt the bloody industrialists and multinational wake up. they can cheat further Indians.
forget about the unemployment. it can not happen because majore industries do not keep more people to work. it will give enarmous employemtn to individuals selling these chinese products in INdia, their employemnt in numbers will olut number the loss of job in majore companies
HATS OF TO CHINA LET US HAVE THIER ROLE MODEL
FIGHT the corrupt politicians and work more hard to imporve our country.

Surprising, so many people are presenting about the same topic and want 'more details abt' it. How come ?
If you try and think a bit creatively, you can find so many exciting and useful topics to present, instead of the same s**t everyone is going after.
Bottomline is, our MBA's lack imagination(not all of them, but the few that posted in this thread), IMHO.
Thank you,
YT.

Few other things I'd like to add - We had a bomb-blast, followed by a strike called by some s**t eating politicians in Bombay, the supposed financial captial of India this week. Both events did disrupt the normal functioning of financial markets and normal life on a busy weekday. We can be 99% sure there will not be a bomb-blast and/or a strike called by politicians like this one, in Shanghai or Beijing.
Their infrastructure is strong and is improving at a terrific pace. For instance, the politicians there don't play with the road contracts, because they understand importance of well paved/maintained roads for a good economy. Imagine the state of Roads in our states!! The less said, the better.
Not trying to stereotype anyone, but from what I observed, Chinese are catching up in English too. And you know what, the Chinese, even though they have an accent while speaking English, they speak relatively well without mistakes; and its better not to say anything about the 'quality' or lack thereof, of our conversational english.
And not only that, even in programming, it seems our people are ONLY into Application programming/Custom Programming - ie, writing programs for someone else's specs. After hotmail, there isn't a product that's can be attributed solely to Indian/Indians. The Chinese are creative in this too - check this page for a small but a beautiful sample - www.myie2.com
Every computer software including Windows OS has a Chinese language edition, and/or Chinese language support. An OS in one of our languages?? Forget it.
The Chinese language has a few variations - Mandarin, Cantonese etc. But ultimately they all can understand each other. What's happening with us here ??? The Northies don't want to learn any South Indian language, while people in TN object Hindi, the supposed National language, to be taught in schools. So, there's another barrier for our unity.
The bottomline is, we lack discipline, lack accountability, lack enforcement of rules etc. But one thing we have in abundance is red tape and bureaucracy.
What do you think ?

YezhaiThamizhan!
I agree with most of your point. yes, u r right. In some countries indian are working as maid for chinese. For my wonder! This indian can speak better english than the empolyer.
In chinese society, male & female are working very hard.Indian are talking about pride themselves, in the end, they will end up in the Bar.
English came to india, we chased away
If chinese goods came to india, what we do?
Can Indian goods go to China, When we do?
Any way, our enemy is non other than our own people!!!!!

its the attitude which matter. Working for an import house based in Africa, I deal with various companies of India and China. What ultimately brings the difference in faour of china is their ability to respond very quickly enquiries and their willingness to produce the goods as per the demand of the importing country. In case of Indian exporters/manufacturers, they will first ask you numerous questions about turnover, workforce, management profile, balance sheet, etc, etc,. By the time you fulfil these demands, you have already lost interest in business. Further, Indian manufacturers will shy away from small orders, not knowing that these small batches alone can bring them bigger orders later.

Chinese products are not really doing that well in India because of payment. Many a times, price agreed are changed. Not because of quality or quantity but unacceptable reasons.
