Crimes against women have always had the least attention Mr Bhagath Singh, since when did you realize that the judicial system is sleeping ? As for the women activists, they have to first conquer the branding by the misogynistic society before they fight for the rights of their kindred.
I think a better question to ask would be what is each individual, man or woman, born to a mother, having a sister, wife or daughter doing to improve the situation of women, not only in Tamilnadu or even India but all over the world.
Here's a link to a list of women's organizations in India.(It may not be a comprehensive list)

Hi phdgirl
My concern is not all women are united in their mind to fight against crimes againt women in india.
recently one swiss embassy lady official got raped in delhi(our capital)
That is the biggest shame for India.
you gave a list of women organization , that can be even more (may be more than 1000)
But what is the use?
In villages , and small towns how many women know their is some group is their to fight for them????
Once a women is settled down well they never think about good for their own kind , that is the pity ?( this wont apply for all woman) but most of them are like that.
The laws againt the women crimes are so lenient and easy for the criminals to escape.
Unless Women make a breaking effort . still this worst situation continues....

“you gave a list of women organization , that can be even more (may be more than 1000)

The list could be longer. The use of those is that there IS a collective representation for women although many of these org.s may be poorly funded or crippled in some other way but the point is that they exist despite many people’s wish they would not. There are some good-for-nothing chit-chat clubs formed by women and I am not talking about those here.
”In villages , and small towns how many women know their is some group is their to fight for them???”
Literacy for one, would lead to awareness. We all know this but is anybody actually overseeing the execution of the thousands of policies that our “politicians” churn out of the lok sabha at the central level or even the state assemblies? Instead, we have greedy women CMs who ONLY further their benefits and engage in political vendettas.
”Once a women is settled down well they never think about good for their own kind , that is the pity ?( this wont apply for all woman) but most of them are like that. “
That is the sad truth and I totally agree with that view. But the other side of the coin is that if women don’t look after themselves nobody else would do that for them. Highly successful business women, professionals or scientists get caught up in the self-assertion of keeping up with their male counterparts and proving to them that they are indeed their equals and lose track of the onus that rests on them to reach out to their underprivileged sisters. I guess the solution for this situation would be a complex one because these women have to choose their societal responsibilities over their family and career.
”The laws againt the women crimes are so lenient and easy for the criminals to escape.”
And they will be as long as we have conservative fundamentalists as our lawmakers who would only protect the rights of the dominant sex.
”Unless Women make a breaking effort . still this worst situation continues....”
I whole-heartedly agree but there needs to be a drastic change in the way the whole society perceives this issue. Women can muster all the strength they want but it will not be enough until the male species dutifully joins the fight.

Listen, poda, we have more important issues in Hindustan right now than women's rights. So why are you bringing this up? First of all, people need unity. Lets figure out how to unite all Indians through Hinduism. Then we can talk women's rights.

Hi
The Discussion is about women safety and the crimes against women and the Strict laws to protect women.
In countries like china , middle east women are protected by strict law in much better way.
As they can feel safely there.
In China . Rapists will be sentenced to Death.
recently in India , Advani made a comment that they are also thinking about bringing the law as death sentence for sexual crimes against Women.
But what is the action from women Organizations?? to bring the law sooner??

Mr Bhagat Singh, I hope that you have already realized the impediments that lie on our way.
The religious republics of the world such as Iran have clearly demonstrated to us, the evil of fundamentalism and their guardians.
Such a state might soon come to India and then we will realize that these voices were our warning signs.
One can only hope that we get to our realization point sooner rather than later.
Bhagat Singh "recently in India , Advani made a comment that they are also thinking about bringing the law as death sentence for sexual crimes against Women"
Death sentence for rape is not the solution.
Preventing sexual crimes against women by empowering women should be the way to go.
Death sentences will ONLY divert the issue from the women's rights perspective to a human rights perspective.
The international community will make a big hoop-la about the severity of the punishment and the rape victim will be further victimized forever for the rest of her life.
