help mee!!
i was studying in Canada alone , away from my parents in the dorm. I fell in love with a guy in the chat, it was soo intense that we met in london (i was still alone) i stayed with him for 20 days.We had no sex!! just good lovers.Now everyone in my family knows and i feel threatened at home coz he is srilankan and i am kerala iyer gurl.!! He stays in the uk and i will be going to study LLB law there..Ma moms gonna come with me to tell off this guy..yikes!!!i am soo worried help!
should i cut the relationship (after all Ill only suffer and cry maybe for a year or two then ill be fine)

  If you have to make too many sacrifices, than that kind of relationship is worthless in the long run, so it better to break it.You will be very sad for awhile and but later you will remember it as an interesting episode in your live.Move on and the world is your oyster.The human race falls in and fall out of love at every other opportunity.

  Hmm.....give you a better example...see the movie "Nala Damayanti". It's about a Kerala Iyer boy and a Sri Lankan Tamil girl.

  Why do they hate him? Does he have bad manners? Is he an alcoholic or drug addict? Does he look down on kerala iyers or disrespect your religion? What is it?

  And remember those scenes from 'naLa thamayanthi' where the iyer boy mAdhavan had to wear Cross and convert to christianity to save his butt from the immigration ppl.??! ;-)
  
  
  Whatever decision u take, don't make it in haste.
  
  Make sure that you know what exactly you want from this relationship - before either plunging into marriage with him or dumping him.
  
  But don't dump him just coz ur family says so.
  
  Dump him if you think - after due deliberation, that his relationship isn't worth it - losing all ur family.
  
  Or marry him if you just cant think of anythink else.
  
  Let the decision be urs, taken after careful thought!.
  
  But i knw how crazy the situation must be!..but trust me, don't make any decision in haste.

  Let me tell you something. I'm a Sri Lankan Tamil, I met a Tamil/Malayalee mix girl back in 1988 in Madurai, TN. I never let that girl know that I love her and she never let me know that she love me. I then immigrated to Canada she got married(proposed) to Indian bramin guy and immigrated to US. This guy is an alcoholic, used to beat her every day. She was not happy with her marriage. I heard all these through another friend of her that I happened to know.
  My advice to you is, for whatever reason your parents don't like this guy(because he is sri lankan) your parents might have heard of one or two bad sri lankan guys, all communities have this.
  Marry him if you like him and trust him. Think twice, whatever the decission, don't regret in your life like me. I made a mistake back then, I regret even now. The girl I met in India was a gem but I didn't have the guts to let her know and go against my mother(back then)Good luck dear.
