s, unfortunately this is the case with many Indian families. Please post your question at www.ammas.com That is the ideal place for this question.

tacking them depends how they behave.
it is always good for women to go to world similar to men. that would may help them if they have to stand on their on legs.

An abusive husband is like any bully. If you know his weaknes and you know where exactly to hit him, he will get scared and run. He is really a coward hiding behind his words.

Skanthavelu had turned into a marriage consultant these days. This way he can be-friend the victim!

Such husbands are cowards suffering from inferiority complex, difficult to manage, educate or bear with them. Learn to ignore him best as you can, no retortrs( they are useless), no reasoning with them(it is pouring water on duck's back). Do your duties quietly, pursue your hobbies for peace of mind & wait for the man to reform!

I would second the suggestion of :) (punnahai ).
I agree with kajan, skan and madam pp's posts.
However I would like to add the following views........
No best suggestions can be given on matter where the problem is unknown. U are the right person to decide if he is wrong, or can he be spoken kindly and be cured.
You should analyze ur otherwise flaws and follies with strengths and greatnesses and analyse his pros and cons too. ( I would suggest, with unknown id, plz give full detail in amma.com or other sites where they can suggest solutions...or write to some consultant or meet them where u can openly talk ur problems)
Try the possibilites of putting up, curing, being kind with him. Win him over with love, and indirect approach.
If nothing works and its beyond u, to put up......after analysing ur situations economically, financially, socially etc...u can think of other possibilities............
