The eastern world has many past scriptures and present day research works that say there is something called "pre-destination" or simply "destiny" or "fate". But how about the western world? Are there any valid scripture references or current research works in these lines. Even if u have personal information/experiences that bring in 'DEJA VU' kind of feeling, please share it here...I mean, when something happens, u feel something like ," aw gawd, this has happened before"..

  Wow, I always thought that, With ESP, or "my subconscious alert", I'd be able to explain what happened. The more I think I have it, the more "control" I have in theory. With Control over ~fate~ my life would be simple. It only gets more complex. Life is living it, not reading to much into it. Do what is right and it'll come back to you one way or another. The good and bad, never last forver. Fate is only a leash we bind to ourselves to limit the Ever expanding Universe and to tie us down to a safety net. I may not be right, But I know I can change at any time. It may be difficult to get out of old habits or the course of "fate" But perseverance and determination are my foothold on this earth. Time is all we have on this earth. Our most precious thing is life. So if we die...Where do you go? I want to be good enough...and live well enough, not worrying if I fall into my "fate" ...yeah I babble..sorry!

  i have to say all the above topics have really made me think.I have been like stuck in my mind over what i think of certain aspects of our life which to me is not factual but theory.I also have many ideas on life such as ones touched by above an aonther major theory being that life isnt real.I t is all a game set out before us by sumone an left to run.This could be because many films these days ie The matrix are bringing up these large "spiritual" topics.Also the theory of life concerning Lord Of The Rings the books on Arda for anyone who is familiar.Is it a possible parallel universe?feed bk on opinion pls!!!!thanx

  Is there actually such thing as a soul? as far as i'm concerned there is only a body. no mind, no soul. Therefore, i find your statement invalid. No theory can prove the existence of a mind, or a soul for that matter.

  You can also read the "Nadi Astrology" thread in this forum (especially some old posts).
  
  Thousands of years ago enlightened rishis were able to see the destinies of people yet to be born far in future (ie thousands of years in advance). They wrote their destinies in palm leaves and these eventually came into the hands of Nadi practitioners (mainly in India). (Note that rishis did not write the destinies of *all* the people, but only those fraction of people who were destined to come to these nadi readers to read their leaf.) . Note that unlike Nostradamus predictions (which I hear that is very vague and general) these leaves contain even the names/relatives name and other *very specific* details of the people coming to consult the leaves.

  See whether you can mention something about this in your paper. Because this is kinda indication that future can be predicted far in advance.
