I am working as a software engineer in Bangalore and leave my kid (1 year old) at the day care centre from 8.30 am - 7 pm. He seems to enjoy the other kid's company which he would miss staying with me as a single child.
I am very ambitious about my career. But I am thoroughly perplexed about leaving my son in the day care.
I feel that I am after money and I do not give much time to my son.

  Vini my baby is 9.5 months old. I gave up on the present day care as the moment he gets into the place, he gets to know that he will be separated from us and cries, non-stop, till we get back into the car and drive away from that place. Kids are too smart to understand things at this age, but they do.
  
  I am still for a look out for new day care center's, need to check where he will like to get adjusted.

  Ofcourse a baby as young as 10 months would not be too much at east to adjust. But basically any child, even at around 2 years when we send them to playhomes or playschools, cries for around 10 days or so, till they get used to it. AFter that they do get adjusted and they would know when to expect their mom back.
  
  3 days is too short a time to give up. Try for more time in the SAME DAY CARE, rather than switching day cares. Also, as u said, since children are smart, he or she woudl know, by crying they can make their way easily. Cajole him into it. I know its easier said than done.
  
  Just be sure of the prerequisites of daycare, which I am sure as a mother,u would know better than me
  
  1.NOT BEATING THE CHILD to make them obidient
  2.Child fed properly at proper time
  3.Child is kept clean and fresh
  
  IF these are taken care of, then playhome adjusting, the child would do in just a months time.

  Thanks a lot Shakthi. I am forced to look for another day care center as the caretaker there has no experience in taking care of an infant and seeing the baby cry non stop has scared her.
  
  Most of the new places I have seen so far are all I would say not fit for infants, but the older kids can manage. I have no idea what to do? God has got to give me a break asap.

  If its a 27 month old child, ONE CANNOT EXPECT A PLAY SCHOOL. Look out for creche.
  
  I am told, maids(full time or part time) to take care of the child, hired from reputed helpers instt, works better these days.

  In case u dont mind travelling near, bannerghatta road, apposite to RANKA APTS(near hotel kalpavruksha) there is a small creche cum playhome there. I am sure its near BTM. check it out.

  I send my son to a place called Abacus in JP Nagar 3rd phase and I have found that to be the best so far.
