DEAR FRIENDS,
HAS MELODY QUEEN RECEIVED HER PROPER RECOGNITION FROM OUR GOVT?I DONT THINK SO!!
NO DOUBT SHE IS THE EVERGREEN NIGHTINGALE OF INDIA,BUT THE PITY OF OUR INDIAN SINGERS IS THAT THEY DONT GIVE THE PROPER REWARDS OR AWARDS FOR A DESERVING SINGER LIKE HER.WHAT DO YOU THINK FRIENDS?

  You are absolutely right. S.Janaki did not receive her due recognition from Govt especially in National level.Before the las 15 years, south indian artists did not received their due recognotion. But fortunately now the things have changed. See the recognotion given to Chithra.
  
  Any how Janaki has got the recognition of people which is the most coveted reward for an artist.
  
  Inspite of we having a good singer in Chithra, frequently I wish many songs could have been better sung by janaki.

  yes ur sure, s.janaki hasn't got proper recognition from the govt., all are behind the lata..
  i agree that lata is also a gifted singer, but at the same time janaki is also a gifted singer, she too has the same talent as lata or asha has. then why this sort of behavior from indian govt..? people should take care of this. even tamilnadu karnataka, andhra govts hasn't recognised her talent, i think they should start a award on her name like maharashtra govt. as tehy give Lata mangeshkar award

  Janaki is one of the great singer of our country.
  but unfortunately she didnot got any proper recognition from the whole india,because she was a southIndian.our central govt should give the
  "Dadha saheb palke " award to praise her achievements.I pray the GOD,Should give her good health and longlife.

  Janakiamma never got the right recogonition due to her, while even comapritive newcomers where given padma sree and padma bhushan awards she was never chosen for that, and she was called for singing really substandard songs in hindi forgetting her immense talent and she was net given a state award in kannada in which she had sung so many good numbers. at least the kerala government had given her about 12 state awards, and as anyone could could conclude she has got that special place in all music lovers heart, and that is an ireeplacable recogonition

  Is it the Govt's job to recognize all the artists in India ? She is just doing her job, which is playback singing.

  my dear music lovers,forget about recognitions and awards.p.susheela and s.janaki are the most popular and respected singers of south . that is their recognition.more over that p.susheela received the first national award for the best female voice .p.susheela is the most national awarded female singer five times she recieved national award.s.janaki recieved four times.North indian singers are coming only behind these great ladies in the matter of awards.

  Janakiamma without doubt is the most talented singer in India. Her versatility, range & quality of voice is unequivocal. I cannot any imagine any other singer possessing such a depth in singing. It is a pity for all music lovers and ardent followers of S.Janaki like me that she did not receive the well deserved recognition. Thanks to filthy politics and step-motherly attitude shown by the Indian Government towards South Indian artistes. This treatment is shown not only for film personalities but also for great carnatic classical music singers. Quite ironical indeed!
  
  With due respects to other singers, I cannot help but say Janakiamma is the Goddess of singing.
