I think you dont need to be too sarcastic to a non-tamil-speaking hubber who does not understand the meaning of a pure thamizh word, thanikudiththanam, J or M.

Joe, I too forgot that Shekhar does not know Tamil. tmotf, thanks for the reminder.
Shekhar,
Sorry about using the word. I dont think thanikudithanam has can be translated to English, but it basically means a home where only husband, wife, kids reside. no in-laws from either side. It is the opposite of joint family.

Thanikudithanam is
nuclear family
unlike joint family
what ever happens, just happens with husband and wife, and they may burst.. or... merge as two nuclei!
hehehe;;

'Thanikudithanam'(nuclear family) is the solution for all the inlaws' problems.
It can be converted into 'heaven-on-earth' or even as 'hell-on-earth???' or just 'earthly-on-earth' ... just as in any other system of living .... Any takers ???
My opinion:
Nuclear family facilitates full partnership development, understanding, mutual support, mutual progress, independent/supportive mental advancements etc in the case of happily married couples.
(Simultaneously, relationships with the inlaws should be properly maintained and fully attended to.)
Are all couples (with children) in 'Thanikudithanams' happily married?
Is 'Thanikudithanam' panacea for all problems?

Seshadri:
Well said on both points.
"Are all couples (with children) in 'Thanikudithanams' happily married?

That would depend on the couple, but at least this gives them a fair chance.
thanikudithanam with "Simultaneously, relationships with the inlaws INSERT (on both sides)END INSERT should be properly maintained and fully attended to" has a very good chance of leading to a successful and happy marriage.

I have gone through too many ordeals in life. But I have realised I can cope with them better when I look at them impersonally with a slice of humour. You just try it. You will suceed great. Just change your paradigm. You can truly enjoy life!!!

Taking things easy (except very few earth shaking ones) and looking at the comic side of life makes every day and every experience a thrill :))

Shekhar,
"I have gone through too many ordeals in life"
Life has taught me a few tough lessons too. I understand seeing the humour in everything, but IMHO it is best not to get cynical :).
Shakthi,
"I said that hehehe yaar!"
Sorry about that.

Your statement reminds me of a quote;
Life is a tragedy for a man who feels, and
life is a comedy for a man who thinks.
