who dislikes purdah?

I am afraid the Islamophobia sponsored by the media is influencing many of us. For example I was surprised to see many posts expressing their abomination of the purdah. Ok, let me ask
1) Do you feel same abomination at the Christian and Hindu nuns covering their body in a similar manner?
2) Are you not aware that rapes and molestations are the least in the Muslim countries which promotes purdah?
3) Are you aware that a larger percentage of women wearing the purdah sit in the Iranian parliament than in the U.S. Congress?

I hope we become more objective.

No need of statistics....dn't shift the focus.. my intention is to show u the contrast of 'dress theory' with rape.

If we say something it is all presumption...if u say it is Statistics....what a world 'ya. Please be realistic in ur reply...

I think focus of this thread is 'Purdha' not concubines, sex trade and Hindus/India.

Slavery is always relative....be cautious on this term!

1) Men who are generally perverted learn to behave themselves;

2) Brothels are shut down due to low sex perverts (men) traffic;

3) Men stick faithfully to their wives and not have one night flings with colleagues, vendors etc;

4) Business Entertainment does not mean bringing clients to Hotels to vent their appetite for female flesh.

UNTIL MEN CAN PROOF THEY TREAT ALL WOMEN OTHER THEN THEIR WIVES AS SISTERS, IT IS UTTER HYPOCRISY OF THOSE GUYS WHO CRITICISE THE ADORNMENT OF PURDAH.

You muslims are talking such nonsense.
That Gear that you wear Purdah when covering your face was practical at one time because of the sandstorms, you see when you travel on a camel in the sandstorms the sand gets into your eyes and nose etc. Even the men wore this in those days.
You have taken this practical usefull garment and made it your statement. People of a country look and dress appropriate to the climate of that country.
If a muslim travels to Iceland, she would wear a lot of very warm clothing. when she travels to Africa(in Summer) she should of course wear something cool and light. This is how it should work.

Woman's dress and it's impact on Rape:
Firstly the low rape stats in Muslim country's could be because of the death sentence most of these countries have in place.

There are some european countries who have low rape stats as well, some of those people go on holiday in nudist camps, in these camps men and woman and kids walk around with no cloths on at all, Yes It sounds ridiculous but they do not view a woman's body as just a sex object, they see a woman as a person as well. So No the Purdah is not the worlds solution to rape.

I did not get your point here, are you trying to say 'wear a purdah and you will get to sit in parliment'. Oh please, If you want to wear a purdah then go ahead and do wear it, But if a woman does not care to wear it then she should not be excluded.

Low rapes in Muslim society is Bullsh*it.
Just that most don't get reported because a woman must produce four MALE witnesses or else SHE will get stoned to death!

Incest is common in Muslim societies. Unfortunately due to their denial of sexual outlets, the people closest at home suffer. These kind of abuses are everyday happenings in countries like Malaysia and always restricted among Muslims.

On prostitution, what is the percentage of men who go for tehir services? In any case sex with a trader without any emotional involvement is better than getting married four times for daily free sex.

How is this a woman's fault. why should she cover up. Do you not think that men should learn to rehabilitate themselves like real men should and not put the blame on a bit of flesh being revealed.

I agree to the sensible comments by fridge.The biggest obstacle to women emancipation in the
Muslim community the total stranglehold of islamic religious bodies by the muslim man.Their intrepretaion of islam is slanted to keeping their status quo.A bunch of selfish idiots and hypocrites belonging to the medieval periods.It is very sad that so many Muslims are blindly following them.It is time they question these laws.If god does exist I am sure he is benevolent.These outrageous outfits are no way the embodiment of a god fearing person.They are merely a tool of the male chauvinstic pigs.Please do not think that I embrace everything western.

They are not to prevent any one of them from getting converted to Islam.

They have to show respect to every Muslim.

They have to allow Muslims to participate in their private meetings.

They are not to dress like muslims.

They are not to name themselves with Muslim names.

They are not to ride on horses with saddle and bridle.

They are not to possess arms.

They are not to wear signet or seals on their fingers.

They are not to sell or drink liquor openly

They are to wear a distinctive dress which shows their inferior status and separates them from Muslims.

They are not to propagate their custom and usages among the muslims.

They are not to build their houses in the neighbourhood of muslims.

They are not to bring their dead near the graveyards of the muslims.

They are not to observe their religious practices publicly or mourn their dead loudly.

They are not to buy muslim slaves.

In some cases, one male witness can be substituted for two female witnesses. It still greatly implies inferiority for women.

Santa Claus is correct about how rapes are never reported in Islamic society. That is why the official statistics are low.

Unlike some people here in FH, I do not look down on all Muslims. I have met many decent and civilized Muslims who have often been better than most Buddhists and Hindus I know. But the point has often been made that wherever Muslims are a majority, they become barbarians and create ugly societies. Looking at the Middle Eastern and other countries, I cannot deny that.

I’m a Malaysian and not a Moslem. Generally the Malays (who are Moslems) are good people but when it comes to sex they’ll become extremely mad. Many of this group, who live in sub urban and urban areas, really can’t differentiate a wife and a daughter. Impregnating own child. How cruel is this?! What makes them drive to this extent?
Blaming their religion and race?

Saying that ‘so and so group of people’ are doing ‘such crimes’ just because they are from ‘this and this group of religion’ is a sheer ignorance, or I might say stupidity, to the mildest.

Look at those Malaysian Indians. Many of them are high (extremely high) on crimes. Most of them derived from broken homes and poor background. I’ll be certainly taken aback if somebody says ‘they are criminals mainly because they are Indians or Hindus” That’s unacceptable to the most, right??

It also goes to incest offenders. A lack in parental care, education, spirituality and so forth makes them offenders, not merely they are Moslems!!

These are merely my views. No hard feelings, yaar!!
