< Come on guys, a child is child, I know child crying can be very irritating, esp if u r in bad mood, but is it a big issue? >
Come on guys. It’s not always we need to voice out ‘big issues’. Sometimes we do neglect little things that give us immeasurable pleasure, like this one- the crying babies.
I believe, those people who always only talk about Hitler and the 2nd war, Bush and America, ‘Sad’ ham Hussein and Iraq, or ‘O(h!)sama Laden and want-him-alive-or-dead…..are not living a beautiful life , let alone a meaningful one.
Anyways, a really nice one, Kajan :)

Ayutkaiti;
aiyo kadavuzhe, neengha ennai misunderstood paniteengha :((
what I meant was, we should not get angry or frustrated with child for crying or misbehaving, cos, we see GOD in children's face, so innocent & cute(just like me, hehe), this what I meant, but I think u misunderstood my statement, well, if I have offended any one, I am really sorry :(
any way, intha vazhve oru maya chaya :))

Crying babies can be annoying especialy in a movie house, I have only heard a babie cry once in a movie house ha ha and it was an Indian baby, There is a group of mothers who vehemently state "I will not go anywhere without my baby"", They say this as if it makes them superior mothers.
My opinion is 'fine don't go anywhere, stay at home with your baby'. But if you do go out with your baby then do not impose on other people, The thing is babies are cute etc but you chose to have them not the entire movie house or restuarant, so do not expect everyone to be sympathetic with a crying baby.
Why is it that some parents are so irresponsible with their kids, Do you know that everytime I have kids at my house I age a little more, Firstly the lounge is childproof, I keep all stuff that could possibly harm kids on a higher shelf etc. I am constantly running after and cleaning up after other peoples children so that they do not drown, get bitten by my dogs, fall down a step, or keeping them away from the stove(what do kids do in a kitchen anyway) I do all this whilst their mothers sit down very relaxed.
On one occasion I was in the kitchen and a 6 year old decided to play with the Video machine and erased a video whilst his mother was in the same room with him. But I get really upset when children start wimpering whilst I am sitting on my couch and watching TV, and both parents look at each other waiting for the other to get up and attend to the child, what normaly happens is that the father will get angry and say ""i am going to smack you if you do not stop crying"", Firstly it makes me feel bad for the child, as the child would normaly come and look to me for attention and I would not know what to do (It is not good to interfere with discipline), Secondly, the parent should get up of their lazy behinds and attend to the child, if a child is crying then the child needs attention, it is very easy to understand, crying child, needs attention or discipline, very simple, and it is your Job as a parent to provide this afterall you wanted the baby did you not?
Seriously, I like babies and I will have one of my own as soon I have converted my spare room into a fully padded cell and have cameras and stuff in there so I can see that he is alive at all times and alarms that go off if he stops breathing or something.

Raghu,
I didn’t misunderstand anybody. I just feared u got a wrong look at my previous posting. That’s all.
Yeah, sometimes the crying babies look innocence or even more cute. But I don’t think we should tolerate with misbehaving kids. I hate to the most looking at the adult-speaking and overly stubborn children out there. Once I saw a young mother having a very hard time with her children. She was a pregnant lady and brought another 2 of her ‘children’ to the playground. Oh my God, the kids were unbelievably naughty and stubborn. If I wasn’t there one of them might have ended in hospital’s emergency unit!! I just hoped she to given birth to a really good child.
Racial sentiment is also another stuff I hate among the kids nowadays. I overheard a young non-Indian boy saying ‘they don’t bathe…that’s why they are dark’ referring to his Indian classmates. He told that in his mother tongue, thinking I can’t hear him and when I replied him in his own, he was shocked and guilt. To this I won’t solely blame the kids as they are just the acceptors but the parents are largely to be blamed. Right?
One of those things I like amongst the kids nowadays is their quick intelligence. When I was very young to me every car is just a car; I really can’t name them. But nowadays the kids know everything. They recognize and name every car from Mr Bean’s to James Bond’s.

Of course, no body can tolerate such behaviours, and of course it is their up bringings, so parents/society has a large impact on this.
>>One of those things I like amongst the kids nowadays is their quick intelligence<<
yes, they are far more intelligent than we were when we were kids, that's part of the technological revolution. :)
>>When I was very young to me every car is just a car; I really can’t name them. But nowadays the kids know everything. They recognize and name every car from Mr Bean’s to James Bond’s. <<
in fact, when i was a kid i was mad about cars, esp, HONDA's, as they won the most F1 racing & superbikes racing in the history of motor racing. :))

RAGHU,
Maybe you were an intelligent kid!!! :)
Or maybe I was just unbothered the cars as it was merely ‘boys-hobby’ back then :(
But at least, now I know who is Ralf Schumacher

Okei...I think ppl would sure mistake me for being brutal
and selfish...but lemme be frank here.
In the crowded pallavan scenario, getting a seat is
like getting salvated. I am extremely unhappy to say
that i have undergone lots of distasteful experiences by
fellow male co passengers, where they try to utilize the
crowd to misbehave with fellow female passengers.
I used to be too happy to travel by ladies special buses
during my school n college days. Hence if i get a seat
in a crowded bus, the last thing i would think of is to
be greatful enough to sacrifice it to handicapped person
or a cryin child.
But thinking bout it again.....what exactly would I do....
1. First would try to ignore it
2. after 1 minute would feel guilty yet try to ignore and look out of window
3. after 2 mins....i will take better read a book..(with full of guilt)
3. Still cryin....cant stand anymore....would surely get up and offer the seat.
oh yeah,, me not the kind to keep the child in the lap.
Let it happily stay with the mother. (noway.... I am not motherly...)

It really depends on how old the child is.

I think that it's alright to be annoyed by the crying child, yet you can't blame the mother, what can she do??? there's no magical solution to stop a crying child. But misbehaving children should be punished, if not by the parents then by a warning from a passenger. Commuting is a torture and I for one would like to do it in as much peace as possible, even if that means giving up my seat to a crying child.
Have you guys ever missed a stop because you were either sleeping, reading, or some other crazy reason. I have, I was reading on the train and my stop came and went and I didn't realize till 5/6 stations later. I got off and took the opposite train back, went back to reading and agian missed my stop but this time I got off at the next stop, put my book in my bag and boarded the train back to my station. I was reading A Fine Balance by Rohinton Mistry and those of you who have read the book should know how easy it is to get lost in the words.

Well frnds, it really depend on how we take it. right? if we feel like irritated by that, yes we are. but, as far as i am concerned, even seeing a kid (below 15 years of age) sounds really irritating. cos, i alone know the reason. so what i am trying to say is that it depends on the individual as to how he/she takes it.
